I don't get the tweet because it is pretty vague. The most likely interpretations to me are:

1) I'm (the governor is) a whiny loser and losing to the patriots makes me (i.e. the governor) pound footballs
2) New England is in town because the Colts like to give Brady deflated footballs, since he performs worse with deflated footballs.
3) ?????

Mike Pence is a well-established moron: http://thinkprogress.org/yglesias/2008/09/26/189704/mike_pence_2/

There are very few members of congress with whom I’ve ever had the opportunity to discuss a substantive matter of public policy. But as it happens, one of them — the one with whom I’ve had the second-longest exchange — is Mike Pence (R-IN) who I’ve seen on television today repeatedly discussing the Republican Study Group’s “plan” for the financial crisis. And I can tell you this about Mike Pence: he has no idea what he’s talking about. The man is a fool, who deserves to be laughed at. He’s almost stupid enough to work in cable television.

I'm shocked locals are so into giving the Pats more fodder when an absolute beat down of epic proportions is already likely to happen in their own stadium.

My hunch is when you can't tout excellence on the field you tout excellence in punchless humor.

Isn't this backwards? Great, now I'm angry. WHEN WILL RHE CYCLE OF HATE END????????¿??

I can't imagine Indianapolis allowing 54,169 rushing yards again. I can however see Brady going completely nuts off of play action. The last two games were close(ish) at halftime. Once again, the vastly superior coaching staff should make necessary adjustments and we should see a score similar to the last 3 years. I honestly will be disappointed if we don't score more than 50 and allow more than 20. A 52-17 score will appease me.

Everyone thinks run will happen because it has worked including the Colts who think its coming. Those games have no bearing on Sunday's. Numbers say IND run defense is OK this year and pass D poor. Would anyone be surprised to see them come out spread out, empty backfield no huddle?

This is a really dangerous misconception that far too many people have about internet discourse

Play action pass down the seam to Gronkowski to soften them up then run it down their throat.

Yes please.  I imagine Edelman will also get some action.

I'd like to see an Edelman QB gadget as the FU TD.

I'm laughing at the likely reaction here if Boston writers and SoSH posters behaved similarly in the same circumstances, but it is very hard to wrap your mind around the possibility. Posters would be beaten and them warned; threads probably would be closed. It's just ludicrously embarrassing given all the circumstances. And it all started with that first Kravitz tweet after a legendary beatdown.

Yes we have had stupid stuff before. In Boston, it typically emanates from ownership or management --e.g., "we spent more days in first than" the MFYs. But nothing like this.

Right. It is just laughable. It'd be like us making fun of the MFY after 1999 because they were accused of having too much mud on the ball or some such shit even though they just won a bunch of titles. Unimaginable

Huh.

This had never occurred to me before--that were the situations of the teams reversed, we would have suspended the likes of Kravitz by now for ridiculous whining.

That you recognize that we have higher standards here I find at once gratifying and profoundly disturbing. :)

Isn't that the season motto? The 2015 Colts, we might not be able to beat good teams, but at least our fans aren't funny

At this stage I fully expect it to be a two score win at best, and the media will talk about how the patriots are in decline and that Brady is letting precious wins go to his head.

This game is going to be closer than most seem to think it will be.  Even if Luck does not play, plays at less than 100%, or Hasselbeck plays I could see the Pats' secondary getting carved up.  A turnover or two from the Pats and a big special teams play from Indy would definitely make this a contest.  I'll be happy with a Pats' win and that is the outcome I expect however I don't think it will be a blow out.

A turnover or two or a big special teams play or a major injury or half of the pats don't show up or ...

What evidence is there that Indy's D can stop the pats offense? Indy's offense also hasn't performed all that well against mediocre teams so why would the outscore the pats? It could be a close game but there's no evidence it should be based on the reality of how the two teams have played thusfar.

where I was last at
Most people think this is about a 9 point game.

Most people don't think its a 49 point game.

I think its a 10-14 point Pats win.

I think the Colts "pride" may keep it close.

They've heard the media bullshit too and may play with an edge.

Only two things matter. Winning. Getting out without serious injuries. The rest of it is fluff.

Agree. I'd love another 40-50 points against this crapfest of a football team, but given the state of our suckendary (copyright, PFW), and Indy's (admittedly underachieving) arsenal of pretty damn good weapons, I'll be happy with a solid win and no more significant injuries.

Here
The idea that our secondary is bad and will be "carved up" seems misguided to me. In addition to the increased pass rush, the Pats arguably have the second best group of safeties in football, in addition to a legitimate "number 1" cornerback who is likely to improve. That alone should be enough to make the group no worse than average, and I think Ryan/Coleman/Richards should be well enough equipped not to get consistently burned against secondary receiver groups.

We've entered the part of the week were we also convinced ourselves that Jacksonville could be frisky.

It doesn't make you a Pats homer to predict a blowout. It just makes you like the media.

Agreed. And carved up by who? The rusty, dinged up, turnover machine that is Adrew Luck this season? Or that crafty veteran Hasselbeck? Give me a break

Hoo-hoo-hoo hoosier land.
The Colts aren't the Jags and the Pats are missing their LT, second best LB, and their No. 2 corner. The Colts--if they protect, and they did last week--have a deeper group of skill players than they did last year. If you think that Luck and/or Hasselbeck are incapable of dropping 30+ on the Pats in Indy, you're fooling yourself.

The biggest mismatch in the game, obviously, is the Pats O against the Indy D. But as poor as the Colts pass D has looked so far, they are healthier for this game than they've been all season. Davis is a very good corner, and Mike Adams is solid. They won't shut the Pats down, but they have the capability of keeping the Colts in the game especially if their run defense continues to play well.

Yeah, I think the Pats are the better team and will win, but a very close win or even a loss would not surprise me at all. Given what we see on a weekly basis in this league--and the couple surprise losses that the Pats have seemingly every season, the complete dismissal of the Colts by people here, and pretty much everywhere, is somewhat baffling to me.

No one will be "surprised" because, NFL.

But it seems you're being willfully obtuse if you don't think, ON PAPER, there's a large gap here. Some bookmaker said that some ridiculous amount of money is coming in on NE, from the public and the big bettors, and that nearly every single teaser this weekend has the Patriots involved.

I think what you're missing is that the Colts HAVE been the Jags this year.  They played two weeks ago and Indy won late in OT only fbecause Jacksonville missed 2 or 3 game winning FGs.  The fact you seem to think Matt Hasselbeck has a legit shot to hang 30 on the Patriots really exposes you've gone too far in the other direction, I think.

I mean, if you can't predict a blowout in this game, when can you predict one?  Of course anything can happen, that's true of any game in the NFL.  But the Indy D has been awful, and they've faced zero good offenses this season.  They've got one of the statistically worst defenses in the league while facing bad offenses and without any garbage time stats accumulated against them.  They've been legit terrible.
