Who could plausibly get cut before playing a single game in a Celtics jersey.

In case you missed it there was a blockbuster trade involving two max contract guys (at some point in their careers) and a first round pick and naturally SoSH conversation revolves around debating the relative merits of the guy thrown in for salary matching purposes.

I liked the Whiteside comparison. He has a ways to go to be a good positional defender and his offensive use probably tops out at putback and occasional lob guy and maybe setting good screens. Even if he develops a lot to reach that its a pretty limited player in today's NBA. I personally think Kornet is a much better prospect, given his defense is already pretty good and you can definitely imagine the three point shot getting good.

Unless an enterprising mod wants to import the hundreds of posts already devoted to Moses, I think the board may already be close to Browned-out. For the record, I will state that I am bullish on him, and believe he will contribute valuable minutes to the big club. Moses will be more than just fodder for the Developmental League.

Tacko Fell.

I dunno about his past, but Moses Brown looks like he can run, jump and play a clearly defined role. I for one look forward to our new 5th String Center.

  1. Horford (lots of games missed to injury here)
  2. RWilliams (lots more games missed there)
  3. LKornet (he can move his feet, and maybe he'll get hot from 3-point-land)
  4. GWilliams (if the new coach doesn't insist on dropping Brad's binky)
  5. The Promised Land

To me, he looks like the next Mikki Moore. Tall athletic looking guy with no offensive skills except rebounding, who's bad at positional defense. If he can figure out the defense piece of it, beyond blocking the occasional shot, he can stick as an end of the bench big man option. If not, he's out of the league.

Could one advantage be that offensively you can run the same Lob game as with RWill? Basically Him and Rob Will are interchangeable in the same way a Fiat Spider (nice sexy car with reliability issues) and a Chevy Cavalier Z24 (shitty Car that can get you from point a to b and impress a certain subset of the female population) are interchangeable.
(I know Robs vision and passing seems better.)

Rob is obviously better if less reliable.

Compared to RWill and TT. Or a Fiat Spider and a Dumptruck.

I don't see the comp. TL is quick and explosive with good hands in a way Brown hasn't really shown. If anything Brown is more like TT on offense. Mediocre hands, bad vision, not terrible burst (probably between TL and TT) best used as a guy to hammer the glass and get putbacks. TL is so good at lobs on the roll because he has good feet to get away from the screen and into the roll fast and he can jump out of the gym with long arms so he goes up quicker than the defender and catches high. Brown isn't gonna explode on the roll like that.

I thought I had read alot about how they were both "explosive and Athletic".

I musta misunderstood.
