iMovie--what am i doing wrong?

I'm trying to make a very simple movie. I dumped a bunch of clips into iMovie, and have lined them up in the timeline. I can't seem to export them to youtube or anywhere else, for that matter. What am I doing wrong? After I get a bunch of clips lined up, what's the next step for uploading them? I'd like to get them into youtube. I have an account set up, and I'm logged in. I just figure out how to do it.

Click the share button (with the box and arrow, the same icon as in iOS) in the top right corner and YouTube should be one of the options.
