This one is fun. Always a treat when the Sox are involve as it's fun trying to figure who might score the least when they are eligible for multiple squares. For example, Jimmy Foxx could have been used in 4 boxes I think. So where do you put him? Sox probably had 10-12 guys that fit into the 40+ HR category, I think I may have gotten the least popular, Rico Petrocelli at 1%. I thought it was sorta' cool that I got to use Jeremy Giambi in the first square and brother Jason in the second. but was surprised that the former scored 19% and the latter 14%.
9/9...RS 44...Red Sox used 6

I'm finding that the more of these I do, the more low scoring players I'm recycling through. On the one hand it's great that I'm actually retaining some of this stuff and has been giving me respectable scores, but it leads to me playing things fairly safe with these familiar, reliable faces.

Very much this. I also find myself thinking randomly of players from 30-50 years ago during the middle of the day and taking a quick look at their BRef pages as a refresher in case the next grid gives me a chance to use them.

Thought about going with your center square, not sure why I didn't. I did use three of your guesses, two in different squares. Great minds! 9/9 RS 41
I usually will go with Jim Ricebut pretty sure Armas was more obscure. In general, I pick whoever I think fits best. But with the Sox, I'm pretty confident and go with the lower Rarity Score. I am disappointed I didn't go with with you middle left, one of my mother's favorite players. I should've went with your lower right too.

I have no explanation for how I've reached the point of using Kiki Cuyler usually multiple times per week, but he's always good for a low score.

9/9 for me, new High Score of 252. After I did the Saves guys I went for high numbers. Figured Nate Colbert would be higher than he was, but old timers rarely are worth much
I like the way you flipped the script with the scoring, those 40+ save guys were RS busters. I must of screwed up on one of my selections. I picked K Rod for my Angel's choice and got rejected. Maybe I clicked on to another player?

There are two Francisco Rodriguez in the database. Perhaps you selected the wrong one?

Lots of duplicates today between IG and CG. I used David Wells, Rafael Soriano, and Mark Davis in both.
I used Mark Davis in CG today and I'm kicking myself for not using him in IG instead of the obvious Trevor Hoffman, 9/9 but a disappointing 143. Also kinda surprised that Kevin McReynolds was well above 1% for center square.

Today I learned that Jim Palmer had seasons with the following strikeout totals: 199, 193, 193, 184, 184. But never 200. Despite 211 career complete games. I guess that’s what a career 5.0 K/9 will get you.

Dizzy Dean had consecutive seasons of 191, 199, 195, 190 and 195 without ever reaching 200. The first four years led the league.

Great job @Deweys New Stance! 10 is awesome. Good thing you had Roseboro and Marichal separated.
I screwed it up early. I tried to get tricky. I thought Steve Avery had a .300 season for the Braves. I should have used Cart in the first place and Yaz in the bottom left
Dammit, I could have used Dwight Evans in the bottom left too.

Mine was 11 when I posted, up to 13 now. I always thought Jim Thome would make it to the Red Sox one day…

Thanks, yes it occurred to me that those two shouldn't be adjacent, and that Dusty was the perfect choice to separate them!
You had several nice picks, I thought about using Carty, Hodges and Jim Ed today as well

This is the lowest score I have gotten and I know I'll never beat it. Playing lots of start-o-matic baseball as a kid comes in handy sometimes.

Last answer I needed was a GG winner for the Braves. First thought was
Maddux
Got lucky that just a few days ago I was reading about the
Boyer boys

Got my first ever immaculate HRIS, score 55. Precisely because it didn’t have a bunch of (mostly NL) teams I don’t give a shit about. If I logon and see brewers, Rockies, cardinals, guardians, and marlins, I just don’t even bother.

Got my best all time RS today AND used all Red Sox for just the second time since I've been playing with 2 of them being on the current roster. That says a lot for the difficulty factor of today's grid, but days like this are fun, especially if you you're able to go back 40-50 years, but don't have a deep knowledge of the black and white photo guys. 9/9...RS 5... 9 Red Sox. I'm still unable to figure posting the grid, but wanted to share.

George Scott 0.05% Adam Duvall 0.8% Wade Boggs 0.5%
Reggie Smith 0.2% Chris Martin 0.7% Rickey Henderson 2%
Carney Lansford 0.09% Orlando Cepeda 0.04% Jimmie Foxx 0.5%

All time best for me, at a score of 20. Took a few wild swings and hit, including a 0.007%.

One of these things is not like the others... my inability to name an obscure Braves Gold Glover ruined my score (36). If I'd taken a shot on Felix Milan, I'd have scored a 6, which I think would be a personal best.

Today was such catnip for "remember these guys" and obtaining a low score. If it wasn't for my low risk choice of Dodger HOF'er in the interest of not screwing up a 9/9,it could have been single digits time...
