I can’t believe the energy of that Zhou impact given how relatively early after the start the contact came. That was one of the most entertaining start-to-finish F1 races I’ve seen. Thank God Zhou is ok.
Seems like he's okay. Sore but nothing too major. It's amazing to see how far the safety has come.Have we gotten an update on Albon? He’s the one that ended up at Coventry hospital.
That stinks it replays on Watch ESPN On Demand if it happens again by the way.I record all the F1 broadcasts (or at least I thought I did). Comcast decided I didn't want to watch the Sprint Race today.
I suspect they group them as "Practice" "Qualifying" "Race" and this must have some other metadata attached, but good lord that's annoying. I woke up this morning and checked the DVR, I had FP2 but not Sprint.
Ah, thanks. Weirdly the ESPN App on the set top box doesn't seem to work for this, but it does work on my phone? /shrugThat stinks it replays on Watch ESPN On Demand if it happens again by the way.
No problem! Yeah the ESPN app is not great depending on platform.Ah, thanks. Weirdly the ESPN App on the set top box doesn't seem to work for this, but it does work on my phone? /shrug
EDIT: nevermind, it does, it's just buried in there.
Exact same thing happened to me. Watched Le Tour - then was ready to watch the recorded race….nothing.I record all the F1 broadcasts (or at least I thought I did). Comcast decided I didn't want to watch the Sprint Race today.

Fixed that for you.[StriKethrough]Disaster[/Strikethrough] Totally normal race for Sainz and Ferrari
Indeed: and we’re only at the halfway mark. Ferrari,MB, RB all in the mix going forward. There has been some great racing this past couple races.
And the racing in the middle pack has been really good. Lots of overtakes. Much better than previous years and the Alonso train that we got in some races at the beginning of the season.Indeed: and we’re only at the halfway mark. Ferrari,MB, RB all in the mix going forward.
Yeah it's nice that a few teams actually battle in the midfield. Alpine/Haas/Merc/Alfa all have been having decent battles. If Toro Tauri and McLaren get back on form the best of the rest will be pretty competitive. And the racing in the middle pack has been really good. Lots of overtakes. View: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fDIIHLdA40EI ll say it again. Over the past couple of years that I 've been following closely, the one driver that has impressed me with his ability to consistently take more from his car is Alonso. And the thing is every time, he does it in a different way, as he seems to have an endless bag of tricks up his sleeve. Granted, some of those tricks aren't very kosher, like the bs he pulled in the Baku qualis last week, but today he was just pure class.
FYI: Peter Windsor used to have the ~Martin Brundle pit-reporter/grid-walk job when Fox Sports (I think I've got that right, maybe it was Speed/Speedvision in the beginning part since things flip-flopped a lot) used their own crew to televise F1 for America in the late 90's / early 2000's - they also had Bob Varsha for commentary who is great, along with Steve Matchett (ex-Benetton mechanic, who was on the NBC team as well). That group (especially Windsor) was excellent overall - but at the time Windsor was the only one on-site, the rest of the broadcast crew was in studio stateside. Varsha did not have the "calling a horse race" frenzy of Crofty, and Matchett/Windsor both had been around F1 for decades so they really knew a lot about strategy and technical details, plus familiarity with all the principals.I recently discovered this guy and he seems to have the best analysis of what's really going on during race weekends.

Binotto is probably looking for someone to throw under a bus right about now - you'd have to think his job is not exactly safe.Am I wrong or was the Ferrari team leader too quick to confirm driver error today? I would think as boilerplate "We will look at all the details, he is great driver" etc answer would be the norm.
The Red Bull engineer made a remark about the throttle getting stuck and then...Anyone have any context on the conversation that was going on in the post-race room that got sound-deleted after the race?
Got it, thanks! I couldn't make out what the engineer was saying. The Red Bull engineer made a remark about the throttle getting stuck and then...
oops the sound dropped out. Crofty tried to cover for it by claiming "technical difficulties." Uh huh.
I thought Nico Rosberg made a good point post race about the wind being a potential factor and eating into the downforce on the car.
As I said earlier I’ve only been following casually but he’s one of the drivers I had grown to like. I recognize he’s had a long story and I’ve only caught the end but I loved how forward he was about using his platform to make the world a better place.Dammit Seb![]()
