Just curious. My personal viewing is down a ton. I used to watch every snap of every game (although sometimes not live, depending on what was happening). This year I've seen fewer than 20% of the snaps. The team isn't really interesting to me. I haven't watched the league in general either. I have always said that when BB/TB12 leave I would likely quit the NFL, but it may be more of a Covid thing for me - I've barely watch sports at all since March.

When you vote, would be interesting if you note the context of where you were in prior years. I'm selecting 1-25% of snaps, but I was closer to 90%+ before.

My viewing is definitely down -- not so much because or Covid, or growing NFL malaise, but just because the Pats haven't been as much of a must-see TV option as they were over the last 20 years.

That said, my drop is from ~95% of snaps to something closer to two-thirds. I do still watch every prime time game, and watch just about every game available to me in the NYC market, and still stream maybe half the games that aren't. The latter is no small deal for me, as I really do regard illegal streaming as theft... but do as I do not as I say. I'll also bag games in the fourth quarter a lot more often than I used to.

I'd have to estimate it at about 45% of the snaps, down from 95% in previous years. I don't think COVID has had a big effect on it, I think it has more to do with general fatigue in watching Cam try to throw the football (I've watched much more Red Zone than in previous years). And no, I probably won't watch more than a half hour of the MNF game tonight. While it's kind of sad for me after 20 years of watching 90+% of Patriots snaps, I will say that it has done wonders for my stress levels and sleep patterns.

Most. But I've bailed earlier in games than I otherwise would have. I hate feeling as helpless as I do when Cam is the QB. I shut off the San Fran, Rams, Jets, and Broncos games.

I voted 50-75, mainly because I skip the night games. Don't stay up that late anymore. I'll probably be asleep by the time the Pats score tonight.

Have watched a lot of Tampa.

76-99%, which is no different than the past, well, 35+ years for me (save my four years at college in Central NY when games weren’t available).

Watching the Pats is what I do. I love it, even when the team is mediocre or lousy.

I voted 75-99, which is the same I might have voted before, but now I'm closer to 75, whereas before I was closer to 99.

I end up DVR'ing a lot of games due to other commitments, probably 3/4 of the games in any given season. If they win, I'll watch the whole game. If they lose, I might only watch some or none. Considering their winning pct has dropped from about 75/80% to something more like 40/50%, it just means more losses where I don't bother watching.

Watched every snap and will continue to do so without fail.

For these final two games, I will root hard for the Pats to win, celebrate every good play, and curse like hell when they screw up. Yet at the same time, I hope they lose both games and get a better draft position. Talk about self contradiction.

I've had each game on the entire season, but have surfed the internet at times while the game was playing which never happened during the Tom Brady era, so voted 75%-99% which is more a reflection of the less than 100% focus. Still high though - probably at 95% completely engaged which snaps to 110% when Stidham comes in.

Have watched a lot of Tampa too and it's incredibly bittersweet. Don't care the numbers, analytics, etc., I wanted to see that guy finish in a Pats uni even if it meant sinking the franchise for a bit. It would have been interesting to see how long this could go and how the team would adapt to his changing physical limits. In some ways, I'm surprised that BB didn't relish the challenge.

I voted 100%.Same as every year. The majority of games have gone down to the wire, and in the blowouts, Stidham curiosity was enough to stick it out. I love watching the Patriots play football. I'll watch 100% again next year, even if Cam is QB1.

Agree with the first post, all of my sports watching has been down this year, even the Sox.
I watched the first week of Sox games, then I don’t think I watched more than 3 innings the rest of the season. It was clear that the Sox had no interest in competing this season, and there wasn’t much in the way of young talent they were trying to develop, so I bailed.

Football is different, IMHO. It’s once a week, and the Pats were genuinely trying to win. It’s weird to say on a Sox board, but I’ve become much more of a front runner when it come to watching the Sox on TV (I do still follow results every day). And I can watch most any NFL game, if I have the time and the Pats aren’t on, I’ll spend all Sunday afternoon watching Red Zone. Baseball, I just can’t watch non-Sox games for the most part. That kinda makes me sad, but baseball did that to themselves.

I've been at 100% for years (excluding maybe missing a snap or two taking a leak or answering the doorbell or something) and this year I'm probably at about 90%. (Games have been on but I've gotten distracted and stopped paying attention.)

I voted 76-99%, but my viewing habits this year are almost entirely pandemic-related:

  • The last few years, I had hockey practice from 3-5 on Sundays. I'd DVR the 1 PM and 4 PM games (so as not to miss the beginning or end of either). This year, I watched more live Patriots football than I had in years because hockey season hasn't started yet, and might not.
  • There were definitely a few snaps this year where the game was on in the background, but I was more engaged with a text, a Zoom call, or a conversation with the 'ette.
  • I turned off the Niners game in Week 7.
  • I watched every nationally televised Tampa Bay game this year.
At times I thought, "this is the year where I can give up watching pro football and feel OK about it," but I was wrong.

I've watched as much as any other year, so maybe about 98% of the snaps (Hey, sometimes I have to reach all the way to the back of the fridge to get a beer and it screws up my timing).

Having said that, I have some things I want to take care of tonight, so I might miss part of the game (or only half-watch with it in the background).

I've had every game on from start to finish, but not necessarily watching as closely as usual. It used to be you never missed a snap and only went to the bathroom or left the room during a commercial. Now I find it much easier to be distracted or go do something else around the house if it's needed.

My friend told me I was a fraud for not treating it like every other year and that we are like spoiled kids who will only do something if it's the best. I told him that for a majority of fans, that's been the case. I'm 44, so I definitely remember those mid 80's-90's seasons, but didn't get hardcore into it until probably 92-93. But for a lot of fans in their 30's, this is all they've known.

I still find myself very excited for the playoffs and will watch most, if not all of the games. But it won't have that nervous anticipation and overanalyzing every little thing like years past. I hope to get back to those feelings soon.

I voted 0. But it's possible I saw a snap in passing. I don't have a tv at the house, and haven't been out more than half a dozen times since March 15, so that's a major factor. But overall, I haven't watched the NFL much since they told the players not to kneel.

Voted 76-99%, but it's pretty consistent with the Brady era. I have no problem with missing a few snaps due to bathroom, food, etc. However, this year there were a significant number of games where I really didn't care if they won (once it was clear that we weren't making it far with Cam).

At this point, I think winning out and finishing without a losing season is more important than the negligible draft position gains. I hope they win out and Belichick gets closer to Shula.

Probably about 60% this year. Bars being closed ate up a good chunk of snaps I would have caught in the past. I did finally get the Sunday Ticket so I could watch TB12 and Joe Burrow, just in time for the latter's knee to get destroyed, so I'm probably closer to 90% the last 6 weeks or so. I remember being 1-15, so them sucking hasn't ruined my Sundays or anything. And it's been very peaceful not having every single play feel like it's a pre-condition for winning the Super Bowl.

76-99%, pretty much like every year. Bailed out of the fourth quarter of the niners game, and missed a few stretches of other games here and there. My interest level has been as high as it usually is, but inevitably something comes up every year that keeps it from 100%.

1-25%, down from 90%.

Its really a combination of factors. I'm in the Philly media market and we don't get a lot of games other than nationally televised broadcasts, so watching every game rests on how often the Pats are in those national spots and either a lot of illegal streaming or catching a recording later. The Pats weren't televised as often nationally this season, plus I just didn't have the motivation/desire to either stream games or watch them later when I wasn't that enthusiastic about the team's prospects. Kids and family are a big factor. Watching the Pats, especially live in the 1:00 or 4:00 slot on Sunday, often requires that commitment to dominate our family plans for that day, with everything scheduled around that, and while I was willing to invest the marriage political capital to do that when I was most into the team, it just doesn't seem like a good investment just to see Cam stink up the joint for a mediocre team.

This is where I am. I am in NJ and only get the National tv and Pats/Jets games. I found this 2020 version of the team to be boring as shit so I decided to hold onto some marriage/family capital and not push the envelope, as I did far too often during the Brady era.

I like Cam as a person but his presence at QB has sucked the life out of me this season. I wasn’t expecting a Pro Bowl season or anything...but I also wasn’t expecting 4 freaking passing TDs entering Week 16. Truthfully; the Pats offense has been very dull to me since the departure of AB.

I’ve watched most of most of the games, but have also completely skipped whole games while doing housework and such, even when I easily could have fired up a stream. And have been much faster to turn games off early. It is a little liberating for this year after hanging on every snap for two decades but I much prefer that to this.

But I have never been one of the “I’m done when Brady leaves” people, and my football viewership hasn’t waned much in general. I’m excited for the next good Patriots team.

Thirded. I’m in Michigan and while I can watch games that are not on a network on a bootleg webstream, my interest level in watching Brady-less Pats football has waned as the season has progressed. I was hoping Cam could be his old MVP self but that hasn’t happened.

You haven’t managed to turn your kids into football fans? Once you do that, you’re doing your wife a solid by watching football with the kids on Sundays while she does her own thing.

I couldn’t guess at the percentages, but we’re watching a bit more RedZone and a bit less of the Sunday afternoon Pats games, and of course there have been fewer prime time games.

Around 50%. Down from basically 100% for who knows how long.

As the season has dragged on, it's become a chore to follow this roster. I dont need a winner, but if I'm BORED watching a team? Yuck.

I was all aboard the Cam train at the start of the season. The risk/reward was worth it. I was wrong.

Down in the 30s mainly because of schedule issues. Not that different from when TB12 was on the field, to be honest. If I had the time and were in the media market I'd have been in the 90s, at least until they were out of playoff contention.

I'd say 95% of the snaps, other years would be more like 99%. Even if the team were good, there's still something missing from these games with the empty stands and phony crowd noise. I like the road games better where there have been a limited number of fans.

I would have said yesterday that I watch on the limited occasions that they are available on TV in DC, but then I didn't watch a second of the game last night, so I guess that really isn't true. But, then again, I watched a grand total of about 2 minutes of the regular season in 2018 and only a little bit last year, so I guess I still watched more this year than in years past.

I voted 26-50%. I’ve been on a declining trend for a number of years now. This season marks the first time in more than 15 years that I haven’t played fantasy football. My NFL consumption is at its lowest point since I was in college and had no access to Patriots games. In college I would watch a non- Patriots game just because it was on. Now I don’t watch any non-Patriots games and don’t tune in at all many weeks.

They are truly an excremental team to watch right now, particularly on offense. They are dreadfully predictable and boring, and have such limitations at all skill level positions that the product on offense is basically unwatchable.

Definitely down from past seasons, this is from a combo of things from no fans in the seats, a new in market team(Raiders), not a fair weather fan, but watching a crappy team sucks no matter how good the weed is. definitely waiting for The NHL to start, as I do not watch that league that let's the inmates run the asylum

I don't live in NE and I am not paying for the NFL ticket. I watch the games that are available to me and I will tonight.
This is where I am at. I am out of town, watch the prime time games, and I follow all games online but I work every Sunday so sometimes I just miss the whole game. I was shocked at the Chargers' score.
I religiously follow Curran, Kyed, and Cox online. The other writers annoy me.

I watch perhaps 75% of what's available for me - which is limited by our living in Baltimore, not subscribing to DirectTV or whatever, and needing to be off the grid for various Jewish holy days. I do go back to the days of the ten original owners of the Boston Patriots (my father of blessed memory was Dom DiMaggio's CPA), and I certainly can remember too many years when it wasn't a matter of rooting in regard to the season, but rather rooting in regard to an individual game or even just for a specific player or two. My viewing is down somewhat as I age, as I've lost the capacity to stay up late. Also, I haven't become interested in Fantasy Football or wagering, so hanging in there to see if, for instance, something's going on as regards the point spread or the over/under is just not happening for me. All that aside, there will be times when I turn away from the game to check in on the game thread (my grandson set things up so that my monitor can basically toggle back and forth between computing and FIOS), because there will be moments when the game thread is more alluring to me than the game itself. Finally, I think that my inability to sustain sports-hate as proficiently as I used to (perhaps that's a function of either having lived to see grandchildren and/or the virus forcing a sharper distinction between real life and escape-life and/or the impact of free agency) has reduced my viewership.

Way less than normal for me. It's been true of all sports this year. With all of the weirdness around the seasons, and Covid, and the election, and the team sucking, and a million other things, I just didn't make as much of an effort to catch the games as before. Most of the season I was on the west coast, which meant getting up and finding streams online first thing, and I just didn't do it as often this year. My sports viewership, like everything else, is kind of just getting a mulligan for 2020.

I enjoyed watching, I probably watched 70% of the season. It was certainly more fun in the first half of the season and it seems like this season ended with that fumble against Buffalo. But in a transition year, with so many pretty significant opt outs, the team did ok. Next year should be much better, but obviously the most important factor is that this team needs a QB who can actually throw the ball.

I love Cam and I appreciate how hard he's worked and he went through Covid, too. I wish it was better. But his shoulder is held together by duct tape and spit. It's done.

I’m surprised at how much I’ve watched-even working on Sundays I have the stream up on my phone as much as I can. I go back to the Plunkett era as a fan—tho I had pulled away just a little bit in the early-mid nineties. I’m not sure it’s just rooting for the laundry since it’s different laundry from my childhood!

Maybe hardheadedness at proving to all the NYC doubters I’m not just a product of the recent success—

I’ve certainly been less attentive during games—but early in the season I felt just a bit of that familiar tension when games were close. Loved rooting for Cam, and hoping for younger players to develop—Very disappointed, but I still follow. Myers, Duggar, Harris have kind of saved the season for me. Uche is fun to watch. So can always find something—
