I don't know about other teams, but the Red Sox make this impossible for most. By the time the gates open they are mostly done and the road team has the field. Never understood why that's a good move from a marketing perspective. When I was a kid, my dad wouldn't even bother taking us to the game if we couldn't get there in time for BP and, more importantly, infield practice, which is now an artifact of a bygone age.

Agreed, it's bizarre. Perhaps I'm just disillusioned by the general lack of interest in Boston at the moment, but it really seems as if MLB has dropped the ball in appealing to a younger generation of fans.

A little late, but I absolutely loved the reruns of the 1960's HR Derby shows when I was a kid. My brother and I would play our own derby in the yard then race inside to watch it in the afternoons during summer break in the 80's.
