Looks tired finally. Would love an Alonso win for selfish reasons. In a HR league and if you have the derby winner there’s a nice bonus in it for me.

edit - here goes Vladdy again

I think it's pretty hilariously poor planning that the AAA Home-Run Derby is literally at the same time as the MLB one.

If Alonso ties this and gets into another playoff, Vladdy might just collapse at the plate.

Not that any of you care, but Alonso went to Plant High here in Tampa. (same HS Wade Boggs went to) By all accounts, a great kid ...

Boston --> NYC --> LA --> NYC
Probably not.

Scoring: Scoring in the Contest is as follows: you will receive points ("Points") based on official results, as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion, as follows:

  • Round 1 correct choice: Five (5) Points for each correct Round 1 choice.
  • Round 2 correct choice: Ten (10) Points for each correct Round 2 choice
  • Home Run Derby Champion correct choice: Fifteen (15) Points for the correct Home Run Derby champion choice
  • Correct choice of the player who will hit the longest home run in the Home Run Derby, as measured by Statcast: Ten (10 Points)
  • Correct choice of the distance of the longest home run hit in the Home Run Derby, as measured by Statcast: Thirty-five (35) Points
Edit: you also have to get all 100 points to get the grand prize. If no one gets that the winner gets a pair of tickets to any game, lodging and travel NOT included. What a crock.

Pretty cool that Francona, Cora, and Roberts all played for Cleveland during their careers and are now back in the AS game as managers.

I’d pay extra for a feed of nothing but every player mic’d. No announcers to muck it up (looking at you, Joe Buck).

That was really cool. Reminds me of when Marc Savard was wired for the NHL All Star Game back in the day. I'd definitely like to see more of that.
