Leicester remind me of the Bruins during their cup run. Every time you beat the last line of defense another line has formed.

This is a frustrating one, but Liverpool have only themselves to blame. It’s easier to swallow than the Spurs match where Tierney stole the game.

Balls on Oliver for blowing the whistle before 5 minutes when Lookman picked up the ball and ran with it after committing a foul.

So this is how City runs away with it as the rest of the contenders stumble...

Arlo White really showing his Leicester colors right now...

Also, how does Newcastle finagle that cancellation? off injuries? (not bitter b'c I transferred in DCL instead of Eduard...)

Liverpool blew plenty of chances but that was an incredible outing from a depleted and tired Leicester. Dewsbury-Hall looked great and a wonderful goal from Lookman. Mane should have been subbed off instead of Henderson. I had more faith in a 4th attempt at a Henderson volley than Mane with another sitter

Definitely easier to take than the Spurs result, Trent had one of the worst matches I've seen him play, Mane has been covered ad nauseum... I don't know if I understand bringing on Milner for Henderson, but that's nitpicking. Enormous credit to Schmeichel, Ndidi, and Amartey (and all the Leicester players really)

I mean, I get your overall point, but I think you can count on Newcastle getting favoritism moving forward. The fact that the new owners have been installed pretty much proves that point.

Installed?! The Premier League fought tooth and nail to stop the takeover. Only when they realized their dirty laundry would be aired in the CAT court proceeding (which they failed to argue should be private), did they finally relent. They have since tried to hamstring Newcastle’s ability to bring in sponsorship money and most fans think they are deliberately screwing the team via VAR (I don’t really buy that part). If NUFC are going get favoritism moving forward, it sure hasn’t started yet.

I beg to differ. The Premier League relented when SA stopped pirating Bein Sports signals in the Kingdom. That was all that was holding up the sale. Of course they could have applied the other clauses in the Directors Tests - such as the prospective owners Suitability given the human rights record of SA . But they didn’t care about that. Money talks.

Reece James limping off after what looked to be an innocuous challenge from Lamptey

Maupay trying to milk a foul off that 'contact' with Lukaku is comical - almost as much so as having Maupay mark Lukaku near post on a corner

positive start to Brentford-City: Matt Holland is not channeling Taylor Twellman therefore Jon Champion's eyes are not rolling with faux hot takes

Brentford come close several times then in a flash its 1-0 City. Just too much quality all around - a great switch of play, worked to the wing, classic KdB whipped in ball, and tidy Foden finish.

Hudson-Odoi learning from the Tammy Abraham/Giroud School of finishing

Ake seemed way out of position there in the 29th minute playing with the attacking 5

Chelsea looked like they had regained control after Kante subbed on, but then they concede that equalizer and will drop some more points.

What happened to thicker lines and not ruling out for marginal offsides? Feels like the last few weeks have been riddled with tiny offsides calls

Yeah Laporte's goal getting ruled out was absurd - they zoomed in closer than any other time I've seen this year to mark the armpit locations, and those looked about level to the naked eye. Sure didn't look like any additional width on the margins used

I mean, it doesn't play to his strengths. He's fine at hold up play, but when he's out a bit wider with the ability to cut in and run at people he's devastating.
It’s a terrible thing to say in an interview while your team is in the middle of fighting on a few different fronts AND in bad form.

Tierney on VAR for Liv-Che. Great.
If it happens. Liverpool with three new cases this morning. Klopp not saying the names but Allison and Firmino missed practice yesterday so they are a solid guess on two of the names. Apparently a few staff sick as well so we’ll see how far it reaches.

Thiago also has a hip injury and Robertson will have to sit out the third game of his suspension.

Sure looked like Ederson got Ødegaard's foot without getting any contact on the ball

edit: On the angle from the touchline, I can see a touch on the ball, but he goes through Ødegaard to make contact on the ball

Could have gone either way.
Really enjoyable watch Arsenal have come to play and are legitimately dominating the match for long spells. The sternest test City have had all season including PSG

Martinelli has opened up a bunch of opportunities off the left wing. Kid looks great the more he plays.
Mahrez offering no help to a Cancelo who probably shouldn’t be playing. Arsenal have exploited both wings very effectively. City could have buried a few early chances but this has been pretty much all Arsenal for 45 minutes

The first 5-10 minutes definitely felt like all of Arsenal's recent fixtures vs City. Definitely a nice turn of events, mostly on the counter.

Proud of my boys in the first half. Partey has been immense. Fully expecting City to steamroll us in the 2nd half.
