Getting the NHL playoffs refereeing in this one. Didn't even have to talk about that hand ball/penalty no-call sequence earlier.

I like/hate how I can check out on the Revs for a few years, then check back in and we’re still subbing Kellyn Rowe in for Teal Bunberry.

The Revs have won more playoff matches in 2020 (2) than the Union have in their entire history (1). This ends a 10 match unbeaten streak against the Revolution as well as 9 match home winning streak for the Union.

At the risk of stating the obvious, the Revs are a completely different team with a healthy Carles Gil. Before the season, I said that the Revs were an awful defensive team, propped up by elite goalkeeper. This year, the defense improved (mostly due to Kessler), but they became an awful offensive team without Gil, propped up again by Matt Turner.

With all three designated players healthy the Revs attack is still probably not elite, but they are now strong enough to compete in every match of a single-elimination tournament.

They finally beat Philly, amazing! Buchanan is really coming on, he looks like a really talented player.

It's kind of weird that they still have a bunch of guys from the 2014 team who came so close to winning the cup but lost in extra time to Bruce Arena's team. This year's team still has backup keeper Knighton, Andrew Farrell, Scott Caldwell, Kelyn Rowe, Fagundez, Nguyen, and Bunbury from that team.

It's only been 6 years, but it seems longer than that. By comparison, now that JBJ is a free agent, the Red Sox only have Vaz, Xander, and Barnes who were here in 2014. The only Celtic left from 2014 is Marcus Smart-- that season seems like 3 lifetimes ago. The Bruins have a group left from 2014: Bergeron, Krejci, Marchand, Rask, plus Kevan Miller if he can actually play. And Chara as a possibility but a free agent.

Rowe and Nguyen both left, but the gravitational pull of Foxborough was just too much to resist...or something.

Live, I thought it may have been a dive by Buchanan, but I think it held up on replay.

I also watched the first half of PSV/Sparta before this to catch Ledezma’s first start and this is vastly more entertaining. Playoff energy plus (Ill-advised?) crowd energy plus general MLS frantic energy is great.

I watch better soccer also, but MLS whips.

Seems like Gil's been off a bit on his through balls. I've seen three or four of them get picked off by one of the defenders he was trying to split.

Now Orlando down to ten after a bad challenge. I was thinking yellow watching it live, but I'm down with 100% red on replay.

Seemed a little harsh live, but on replay that's a red every time. No idea what the OC guy was thinking. The attack had stopped, and NE was regrouping. No threat.

Easy red for Orlando. It feels like they've been on the verge of losing their minds.

Revs need to be careful, Orlando is still going forward and they still have some talented attackers. They might have been fortunate to avoid a penalty just now.

Notwithstanding Orlando losing their shit, I think that was closer to a foul on Orlando's GK than to a yellow on Buksa.

Yikes, lots of free runners on that free kick. I'd prefer Kessler to avoid grabbing Dike's shirt the next time; he might get called anyway, but it's obvious when you see the shirt get pulled.

THREE!

I think Gil with the splitting pass to Bou for the likely clincher. Nice to see one of those passes come off.

The Revs have more playoff wins in 2020 (3) than Orlando does in their entire franchise history (1).

The Revs announced a bunch of moves for their reserve team. Most notable is RB Colby Quinones '03 (of Bedford, NH) signed a pro deal after playing quite a bit in USL League One last year as an amateur. The Revs academy is not deep, but I've read Quinones has good pro potential. They also signed GK Marzuq Puckerin '02 (of Cambridge, MA), who is not an academy product — he played for FC Boston Bolts, then moved to Atlanta's academy, and has now gone pro here.
