He also threw out a link to the Big Ben story and one regarding Shannon Sharp. He's going scorched earth

Well, far be it for me to do anything that remotely looks like defending Big Ben, but he *was* suspended. AB would be suiting up for a game against the Jets if he could stop texting.

I've heard some former players say that it's not cool to blame his recent behavior on CTE, but I'm not sure when this crosses that line. This is far removed from normal 'diva' behavior.

It seems as though he’s also complaining about the money he didn’t get from the Raiders in his tweet. Wasn’t he the one who went on social media and said “please release me“?

I wonder if AB's legal team can argue that the picture of the children makes his texting obviously threatening to most of us, but AB is so dumb and insensitive that to him it was simply evidence that she has a lot of mouths to feed--and therefor not a personal conduct violation. Feasible legal strategy?

Pats did the right thing and got their team and their souls back. This dude is an epic clown and not worth the headache. Good for Bill and Robert Kraft.

We have different definitions of professional behavior from reporters.
We sure do. If you're a public figure and you can't ignore the copious crap on Twitter, you shouldn't be on Twitter, because it can't be policed and it's not going to stop.

I wish people online all held themselves to the standards of SoSH too, but pretending it's otherwise is to live in a fantasy world.

Didn't know AB stood for "Arson" and "Bridges".
The broadside against Kraft is unfortunate in making impossible a quick and clean resolution that might have given the Pats clarity and maybe more cap space.

No secret what happened. The amazingly resourceful and hard working Rosenhaus told AB no suitors, at least for this year.

Taking a shot at Kraft, no matter how "not wrong" it is, pretty much ensures that his unemployment status will go way past next year. What owner would want to to be entangled in that mud?

That too.

The last get-out-of-jail-free card on AB was given by Bill Belichick to Mike Mayock.

Watching some of the pre-game shows this morning, the "Patriots have damaged their brand" talking point is getting a workout. But none of these talking heads can offer any specifics. Damage the brand how? Are games at Gillette going to stop selling out because of this? Doubt it. Are significant numbers of Pats fans going to stop buying licensed gear? Doubt it. Have/will the Krafts lose corporate partners/sponsors over this? No evidence of that. Is the value of the franchise going to decline because of this? I wouldn't think so. Apparently the Bert Breers and Ben Volins of the world think them saying critical things about the Patriots "damages the brand".

It's nonsense. If anything, cutting him after 11 days strengthens their brand.

There's something seriously wrong with AB, for sure, but I would enjoy the scorched earth rantings and their inadvertent virtue of pointing out the enormous hypocrisy that is the NFL and its "ethical" underpinnings if they could be wielded intelligently (no chance of that). Yes, rape is damn well different than strip mall hand jobs/blow jobs, but there is a dispute here as to rape v. consensual sex, on which I take no position, as I do not have and cannot know the facts. What is incontrovertibly true is that the NFL is replete with degenerates: Big Ben (rapist); Aaron Hernandez (murderer); Ray Lewis (accomplice to Murder); Rae Carruth (conspiracy to commit murder), Jim Irsay (drug addict); Jerry Jones (abuser of women if not a rapist); Robert Kraft (whoremonger); and probably hundreds more we could all list. It would be fun to watch their houses burn if the subject matter wasn't so damn serious.

“But I truly believed that AB has some serious mental health issues as well as a deep-seated personality disorder. These actions of the past 8 months or so are not just asshole behaviors. This guy is spiraling out of control.”

This is what I wrote previously. This is not normal diva antics. I fear this will not end well for AB if he doesn’t get help.

On the football side, what a waste of phenomenal talent. As other Pats players stated, he was hard working and had a very high FOOTBALL IQ. And was truly gifted. Off the field, man what a disaster.

Reminds me of how I felt after realizing what Aaron Hernandez did. Such a waste of supreme athletic talent.

It's just a hot story line right now. In a couple of weeks it will die down.

It must be nice living somewhere where you've never had to hear about paparazzi. Let Lady Gaga tell you about it.

But anyway, what exactly are you arguing for? You're pretty much just shitposting a bunch of diatribes. You think Klemko should post a bunch of DMs and reply to and take seriously every shitty thing said to him over social media? You think that's advisable conduct for a professional reporter? Is that what you think? Let's speak plainly here.

Edit: they're making a victim out of Klemko. As if someone sicced /r/Patriots on him, rather than a few crazies on twitter. Guys, assholes on the internet *are the story*, ya hear? Klemko fears for his life! Please, won't someone think of the sportswriters?

That's 100% where I'm at. The guy has no impulse control, and he's squandering generational talent. What a shame. For his sake, I hope he's saved some cash, because I think there's a legitimate chance that he's gotten his last chance as an NFL player.

I was being literal. Of course they’re completely different.
I mean we know the handjob happened, were not sure about the assaults.

They were right to fire him, the stalking is beyond the pale, but between his personal predilections and his tolerance of numerous sexual assault accusations among his friends, he sure as hell shouldn’t get up on his high horse.

Why would an AB tweet at Kraft trigger voiding language in his contract when the Patriots have already released him?

That AB will have even more of a problem finding a new job makes sense to me, but that bit seems odd.

It’s become a cheap explanation for any abnormal behavior by NFL players. There are plenty of symptoms that Antonio Brown does not display.
I don't think one has to display every symptom to have a condition.

His last IG is a pic of him wearing a Richard Mille watch while sitting on a Rolls Royce in front of a private plane.

I think that was his point. He’s more Antoine Walker than Gronk when it comes to money management.
Ha! I'm sure that's right. That's what I get for trying to cook some pasta and post here at the same time.

He's going to quickly find out that folks only found him interesting because he was a football player.

Brown plans to file a $10 million grievance against the pats
https://sports.yahoo.com/after-taking-aim-at-patriots-robert-kraft-antonio-brown-plans-10-m-grievance-that-will-go-to-ugly-place-221152699.html
If the New England Patriots’ release of Antonio Brown was just business before this weekend, it blasted into personal territory like a freight train on Sunday. Now the fight over millions of unpaid dollars will likely get only nastier moving forward.

With nearly all of Brown’s $15 million contract expected to be withheld following his release from the Patriots, a league source told Yahoo Sports the wide receiver will ask the NFL Players Association to file a grievance on his behalf in the coming days — with the intent of securing nearly $10 million in unpaid salary and guarantees from New England. That effort promises to lead into a suddenly very personal arbitration battle between the Patriots and Brown, after the wideout indicated that he not only expects his union to fight for him, but also took a shot at team owner Robert Kraft in a Sunday morning Twitter storm.

It's becoming increasingly clear that BB would have kept Brown (giving him all the first tem reps on Friday is a big clue, and most of the local reporters are suggesting it, and Brady and BB are being particularly surly about it). Does that change anyone's thinking? I guess I'd have been fine with keeping the guy--I don't give a shit who is on the team as long as it maximizes the changes of good winning teams--but what do others think?

As always, in any subject area, asking the talking head "what do you mean?" would make them shit their pants and cry.

BB has a football team to run, with the goal of winning games.

Kraft has a business to run, with the goal of making money.

The two are very rarely at odds, but if they were here, it's not surprising Kraft pulled rank.

Once in the fold, I wanted AB to remain and for him and the Pats to destroy the League. I have major problems putting people out of work based on allegations made in civil complaints.

More likely than not, I think, AB would have been allowed to play the entire season. The last straw being the last straw is understandable.

The people who hated the Pats REALLY hate the Pats now. And the people who would never buy a Pats jersey REALLY won't buy a Pats jersey now.

It likely affects the people who loudly proclaim how they're going to boycott Nike because of Incident xxx, then six months later loudly proclaim how they're going to boycott Nike because of Incident yyy, than six months after that loudly proclaim how they're going to boycott Nike because of Incident zzz...
