Help with Outlook 11 for Mac

I recently downloaded Office 11 for Mac.  Download imported the file from Entourage.
 
I have a big problem.  The file keeps growing.  Old emails from 3-4 and even 5 years ago keep multiplying.  I delete them all and they come back the next day (sometimes the same day.  I actually see them "reproduce").
 
Now there are some of these old emails that I would like to keep because there is some information there that I would not like to lose. 
 
How can I stop this?  It gets to a point that if I don't sit down and delete thousands of emails my hard drive runs out of space.
 
Help please.

Repeating my plea for help.  Microsoft forums have nothing and my outlook file grew overnight.

I wish I had something to offer, but I gave up on Outlook 2011 when I discovered it couldn't maintain appointments in my Apple Calendar. I'm using Mac Mail (and Word and Excel).
