Help Me Uninstall Ad Crap

Last week, a buddy of mine sent me a link to a playlist on some random website. He'd downloaded it and was listening to it no problem, but since I unzipped the file every browser on my work computer is suddenly overrun with crappy ads. I've installed ad-blocker on Firefox, but they're still there, and in some cases so prevalent that they screw up the alignment of pages so badly that they're unreadable. The ads all say they're from OnlineBrowserAdvertising. I can't find any programs to Uninstall that match that description, and am pretty sure I've now uninstalled everything on the computer with an install date of last Wednesday.

Additionally, when I unzipped the file it installed an annoying WeatherBug program and an "AntiVirus" program which I've since uninstalled. It's slowed the computer down substantially, and the ads are out of control.

Coincidentally, we just got a shipment of new machines today, but I'll have to make due with it for another week or so. Any ideas as to how to uninstall this Ad crap?

I've done a system restore which has been pretty effective at removing crap.  If that doesnt work you probably need to do anti-spyware software or manually go and remove programs and checkout the startup config.  The later process isnt too fun

I'd start simple - like combofix + malwarebytes ...  There are probably better combinations out there but for short and simple those are the two suckers I keep on a USB drive use just for fighting this crap.

I recently pulled one of these off of The MomTM's computer that wasn't showing up in the uninstall programs list or as a virus in malwarebytes. It was, however, in the extensions for her webbrowser. It had some misdirection name to make it sound like something you would use like "MapQuestHelper" or some shit. Killed it in the extensions and that took care of it.

What browser are you using?

This was exactly the issue. Turned out to be a Firefox add on called YouTube Ad Blocker. As far as I can tell, the problem was solved by removing it. Fingers crossed it's still good to go in the morning.
