I have NO knowledge i am NOT an insider just a sports fan, who saw some chatter on the internet that EEI then started talking about. Google Hanley Ramirez on twitter and see what you can find. Some no one on twiiter is tallking about a murder in the DR but he appears just to be someone spreading rumors for fun, Minihan sent out a tweet teasing this about 20 minutes ago...

Afternoon hosts on a rock station down the hall from EEI. Makes no sense that they get this "exclusive" rather than Dale and Keefe unless, you know, there's not a lot of veracity to it.

Well, they would probably say that regardless, as 'there's a rumor of an investigation' is probably not a valid reason in the CBA to blackball someone
Going to jail doesn't void a deal, right? So he could set fire to a group of nuns and still get paid?
I would think even if there's some sort of morality clause in the contract, since they released him and have now disavowed knowledge of any investigation (doubling down on the "baseball decision" reasons), I don't think they could make any claims to have the deal voided at this point. In other words, I think he'd still have to be on their roster if and when charges were filed or arrests were made for them to have any chance of getting out of paying the remainder of the deal.
Looking at his twitter profile, some yahoo nobody. Either he stumbled into the scoop of a lifetime or he's no different than that guy on Reddit who fooled people into thinking the Patriots were about to make a big trade a couple weeks ago.

If Minihan actually said on the air that Hanley was involved in a murder and he wasn’t he should be fired immediately.
For once I believe the Red Sox when it comes to ex players. Whatever Hanley did would have ended in a Globe story, before Hanley had cleaned out his locker.
Now reporting that someone who has some connection to Hanley -- and Hanley wasn't there -- got pulled over and found in possession of fentanyl and crack cocaine.

Some random guy got busted for possession and he happened to know Hanley (well enough to be able to facetime him). So because the bust happened to coincide with when Hanley was released, it must be related? Seems like a huge stretch to me.

And during that car stop, the suspect claimed that one of the items found in the vehicle belonged to Hanley Ramirez and then FaceTimed [Ramirez] in front of police. And that car stop coordinated with the timing of his release from the Red Sox.”
