McGinn with a perfect curler that freezes the keeper. There’s some VAR-ing going on to see if the ball went out before the shot.

Edit: it was out. Jon can keep that clip in his personal highlight reel tho.

Another handball shout in the Villa-Bournemouth game - I’ve seen quite a few of these marginal calls that used to result in PENs but are now not given. Another - less marginal - one in the LFC- Chelsea game last week. That one was pretty blatant .

Have to admit I like this approach

Brighton were up 2-0 at home vs. Wolves in the 87th minute. Wolves scored to cut it to 2-1.
Then:
Guardian live updates:
A stunning comeback from Wolves! Brighton muffed a four-on-one break and moments later Matheus Cunha equalised for Wolves!
2-2 the final. And that wasn't even the craziest game, along with the late equalizer at Villa Park, Brentford-Ipswich was nuts.
Ipswich took a 2-0 lead, then Brentford scored 3 straight goals to take the lead, and Ipswich had a man sent off. Then in the 86th minute, ten-man Ipswich tied it up with a goal from the substitute Liam Delap. But that wasn't the end.
Guardian:
Football, effing hell. Bryan Mbeumo’s second goal has shattered Ipswich, who had equalised with 10 men. What a crazy game.

98th minute: Liam Delap has hit the post! Dear me.

99th minute: Brentford have won a deranged classic at the Gtech.

In a day full of goals at the death, Beto tallies off a gorgeous Ashley Young volley across the six yard box at 90+5 to snatch a point for Everton against Fulham.

Beto is an emotional guy. Thrilled for him. Mrs O, who has his name and number on her Everton shirt, is also thrilled.

Well, Chelsea-Newcastle has been breathless for the first minute.

Wow. Palmer with a Messi-like millimeter perfect finish.

But there’s a VAR for a fractional offside.

Edit: he’s off, but the camera angle sucked.

Spurs have been quite dreadful today. Palace fully deserve their lead and should probably be ahead by more.

Penalty in MU v WHU was weak but defensible... I hate that rule, but that was pretty consistent with how they've called things the last few years, you come through into the leg VAR buzzes down

First angle looked off, but I think that foot keeps everyone inside. Certainly not conclusive, so that means they'll clearly change it.

No problem with that being given if that’s the best shot they have but man, this is the biggest league on Earth and you’d like a better angle for sure. Semi autonomous was supposed to be introduced during one of these breaks but they delayed it to next season now.

Liverpool being dominated by Arsenal - deserved lead. Just not good enough - losing all the 50/50s - second to every ball - Jones and Diaz pretty much absent.

I don’t know if the dominance is due to a formation mismatch - or they are just bad.

Guessing Gapko and Szobozslai pretty early. Won’t matter unless they step up the effort.

The injury to Gabriel was one too many and changed the match. Arsenal stopped trying to control the match up the pitch and were just trying to hold on.

A point is a decent result for both sides given all factors.

I still haven't seen an explanation here. Taylor clearly does not whistle the first header into the box and this isn't a situation where you would ever play advantage to Liverpool, so he must be whistling Havertz for a foul? Or does he think its handball? Either way, he waits until he sees that Havertz is in on goal and then blows. Ridiculous call.

Can’t argue with you because I have no idea what that whistle was for.

I didnt have a good look at this during the match but I also genuinely don't understand how this wasn't a penalty on Konate. It actually looks like two different Liverpool players fouled him.

Arsenal were the recipient of crazy no penalty handball call on Odegaard in the reverse fixture last year so maybe its all even but this just seems like more inexplicable PL refereeing. "Konate won the ball". Sure.

I think he's calling a foul on Havertz for jumping into the defender with a high arm, but it's a pretty weak call.
