Gakpo moving out wide on the left and “hair on fire” Andy has been fun here so far. Chances unfortunately keep falling to Keita who has Pesky Pole’s finishing skills.

The only thing setting Mo apart from his teammates this year is that he hasn’t missed a few weeks injured, which has ironically hurt the team.

Rashford scores to make it 2-0 ManU vs Palace on what to me seemed to be and eminently preventable goal. It gives me sad face.

It’ll be 4-0 Everton by halftime with this squad.
In all seriousness the Everton midfield was rock solid today, which I can’t believe I’m typing. Everton still can’t score a chance to save their lives but from what I’ve seen from Pool if Dyche can get these to perform like today Toffees will be tough to play through.

I do think there’s warranted criticism for Klopp in sticking with what isn’t working. He doesn’t have the personnel for the 4-3-3 right now, and he’s letting Salah play through his current form.

And Darwin can eat every sack of shit available to him.

Little chippy here in Palace-ManU. Palace's Schlupp bumps into ManU Antony on a challenge. Didn't seem too too bad but led to a skirmish leading to yellow cards for both. But on the replay Casemiro has his hands fully around the neck of Will Hughes leading to a Casemiro red card.

Not that it matters but Jose Sa was about 2-3 steps out of the box when he kicked that finally.

We finally get Elliott when he should have been the sub for Naby.

Duran makes his EPL debut.

Villa-Leicester was zero let up. Fantastic match.

Is it bad for me to suggest maybe bringing in Pochettino for Klopp? That’s a change they could still make…

This Liverpool team is at a crazy crossroads. They got here with scouting and moneyball tactics then switched to adding big money signings. That worked great to fill in the gaps but we seem to be back at a stage where we need to revamp the whole squad. They unfortunately have moved on from scouting/moneyball yet don’t have the budget to play with the financial big boys. So FSG needs to do something. Either rebuild from grassroots, step up with some money or sell the team. Lettting them go back to mid table just to be cash cow is going to be super ugly.

this is spot on and the best summation I’ve seen.

unfortunately this is the world now. FSG are receding to the PL upper half which is still better than the rest of the footy world but-

If there are going to be petrodollar clubs, everyone else will be playing to snatch something off the table.

PSG, City, increasingly apparently Newcastle, maybe Chelsea, maybe El Clasico but they have debt issues, are able to dictate. MU and Arsenal happen to be cycling high on the American debt-laden owner hitting in the right coach strategy but structurally they’re closer to LFC than City. Brighton Brentford and maybe Fulham (??) are riding high on the sound-organization and execution path but “hire someone who knows what they’re doing” is not easy.

Other than their brand - which is a huge $$ pot but becomes pressure on the players snd manager week in week out performance is not commensurate, as we saw at Utd in the Ole era- LFC have no advantage over the PL middle that can’t be lost.

It's easy to say, well, injuries, but I'm not sure a fully healthy side performs at the level they have for the last few runs. They let the midfield fet old and leggy and lost the gamble. Fabinho isn't just off the boil as they say, he is a block of ice. Thiago can still pick a pass, but it isn't enough.

Newcastle jumped out early and looked like they would just overrun West Ham, but West Ham have stabilized and equalized, good game so far.

Yeesh, Forrest defender almost takes out his own keepers eye with a stretch reach going back to his own goal. Keeper with two cleat marks just above and below his left eye.

Leeds have had some good chances but poor execution and Navas still being a force in goal have kept them scoreless. Maybe Aaronson and McKennie in the second half to switch things up?

I’d love to see those two but they aren’t addressing an awful finishing problem. Leeds have been fairly strong in the midfield. As much as Marsch might love an American trio there it would be unwise to destabilize things.

Watching Forest is the equivalent of a name-of-random-fringe-PL-player-2019-21 generator. "Boly? Chris Wood? Oh, that's where they are now..."

Haven't seen much of Leeds but on this, Marsch should go. This side is less than the sum of its parts at the moment.
