That's true, and I admit it's reading tea leaves, but: (1) the only time I think they were both healthy at the same time Steffen started; (2) Gregg strongly intimated it in a past interview I saw; and (3) a recent-ish interview with Turner on Futbol Americas after the Arsenal move was announced makes it seem like he knows it too.

I'm a big fan of Turner obviously, so I've been following this more closely than is probably healthy. I don't think a shitty game for Steffen in April will change the calculus since I'm not sure either of them will see much first team action in the next six months.

Or Horvath or Turner. It’s likely our top-3 keepers are back ups for their clubs, meaning health and camp performances are going to decide things.

United confirm Ronaldo out today.

I hope Liverpool and the fans at Anfield provide a moment of silence to acknowledge Ronaldo’s loss. Truly, so many families have experience miscarriages and infant deaths, which are so rarely discussed. It’s treated as the most private kind of grief, often times with an insinuation that the mother is somehow responsible.

We need to let families know YNWA.

Fully agreed. The commentary that somehow his fame and fortune is a comfort is fucking infuriating.

On top of this, fathers often get lost in the shuffle as if their grief isn’t perceived to be as real as the mothers’.

I can’t wrap my brain around needing to grieve while holding the baby girl. She may bring comfort, she may simultaneously be a constant reminder of what was ruthlessly stolen from them. It’s just devastating.

Looks like the fans have planned to applaud the seventh minute. I would prefer a moment of silence or CR7’s picture and YNWA, but if the fans are left to arrange something this is the only thing in their power.

If only the United fans were as good as Pool' supporters were at recognizing tragedy. Their constant mocking of the 97 through the years is disgusting. Feel for Ronaldo and his family, but fuck United's supports for the most part that take part in that vileness.

Good for the fans, but very disappointed in the club. Miscarriages and infant deaths touch the lives of millions of families - my own included - and it would be a welcome statement of solidarity to ring out YNWA for Ronaldo today.

A few stupid Liverpool fans chant Munich at United supporters. Some Liverpool fans supported a player who racially abused another. But you won't see me (or any other reasonable fan) on these forums bashing "most of" Liverpools fans for something only a few idiots do.

Glad you got your "fuck United's support" in though.

Grow the fuck up.

As you can attest, you have no idea the size and strength of the community until you’re an unwilling part of it. This is an absolute failing of society. Families, and especially women, feel incredibly isolated and alone when this tragedy strikes. We don’t realize that nearly a quarter of the people we encounter have dealt with this on some level. The untapped reservoirs of love and support are immense, but take work to uncover. That needs to change.

You've got me welling up. Just last week a friend of ours gave birth at 23 weeks and the baby passed very soon after. It brings back all the personal grief, but somehow feels restorative to reach out and support others. You’re so right about the untapped reservoirs.

The commentators are missing that this is the role Mane plays for Senagal. He's plenty comfortable playing as a false 9 and making plays from a deeper position.

I'll add that Senegal doesn't have Salah and Diaz running the wings beside him, though...gotta be a dream to step back into space and pick passes for teammates like this.

Elanga was electric on Saturday. I can't recall a single touch in the first half.

Matic is old and slow, but he should be glued to Mane in the center of the pitch. But he's been invisible.

Hoping to see Jones and Elliott into the midfield and Milner in for Trent this half.

I have no idea if ten Haag is the right man for the job ( is anyone?) ... but its a huge rebuild for Utd. I'm trying to think of one Utd player that would be a starter at Liverpool or Man City...coming up blank.

Gary Neville in the Sky Sports commentary booth was very entertaining this evening. He sounds like a broken man.
