A Diaz introduction feels like something that will make a massive impact. Especially with Clyne now in the game.

Edit - but we get Szobo for Alexis.

That was a deceptively nonchalant punch by Allison. Eze struck that well.

Becker just blew a hammy and is pretty upset about it. That doesn’t communicate “1-2 weeks off.”

Thank you, is Jaros…

edit: I only listened to the final 20+ of the second half. The BBC commentators seemed a bit puzzled as to Liverpool’s lack of urgency. Did they look leggy? Maybe just a long week?

Kevin Vogt just ended the longest goalless streak for an outfield player in the Bundesliga at 275 games. Did it with a very professional-looking, no-doubt penalty. Union 1:0 Dortmund about 1/2 an hour in.

Brentford was really slacking today--they had to wait until the SECOND minute to score.

intrigued with Arsenals lineup. Starting both Sterling and Jesus for the first time, and Havertz too. Just as Havertz was establishing himself as a 9, after failing to establish himself in a deeper lying role.

I know MA said that they’d have to shake it up with Odegaard out. But- although they’ve looked lively in the 10 minutes I’ve seen, and come close a few times, they’re scoreless at the half at home against Southampton.

anyone watching this?

1-0 Saints.

Lots of chances for Arsena in the first half, no goals. Southampton get one chance on the counter and bury it.

beautiful. saka took the ball off a guy's foot in midfield, fizzed a perfectly weighted pass, and Havertz danced around the fullback and buried a screamer

Ipswich just doesn’t have the quality defenders to really compete right now. Their guys are getting beat in simple situations. They need to be scouting hard right now to turn up some good deals in January.

They can score, but yeah, even their defenders are better known for their attacking skills.

Aston Villa hosting Man U.

65 minutes in United aren’t losing so there’s that .. rather desultory affair overall - Rashford should have been sent off with a second yellow. Bruno just hit the woodwork with a free kick

Man U, playing disjointed, cynical football.
Rashford commits cynical foul, gets yellow card. 4 min. later winger makes a move on him and you see him pull back his lead foot then he goes ahead and trips the winger who was already by him. No yellow but a warning to the captain Bruno( two games, two red cars)Fernandez.. 2 min later subbed out by the manager.

Ha ha ha

Ward Prowse gets his second yellow when Jackson (?) has a breakaway counter with no one in front of him… and JWP justices forward and grabs the ball, falls on it and gathers it in like it was an NFL fumble.

If I’m Villa I’d be screaming about the stoppage time - at the 86’ the game was stopped for a ref tech failure - I’d have guessed 5 ‘ at that point. It took them 6 minutes to fix that - so it should have been 11 minutes - instead they blew the whistle at 7

The Match Day Live commentators - including Paul Scholes - absolutely shredding Ten Hag - they’ve now scored 5 goals in 7 games. How is he still there?

ETH has spent the GDP of some small nations and the new signings can’t even make the team. The CB pairing was Johnny Evans and McGuire.

Two minutes in, I do not like Brighton's chances with this high line.
