If Moyes immediately snatches 6 points then Everton probably already justified in making the move
100%.
i was driving during the game, so didn't post, but my daughter was watching it and updating. The side has a much different feel. Dyche had leached the belief out of them. It's almost as if they were forbidden to think about attacking. Moyes is no wizard of attacking football but seems to have reassured them that they don't have to be miserable.
He's also made some personnel changes - featuring young defender Jake O'Brien and winger Jesper Lindstrom - that have solidified the side, especially on the left where Mykolenko has been struggling and Jack Harrison is having a poor year.
It was an ugly win - a pen on a handball and lots of parking the bus - but after predictably dominating proceedings, especially at the start of the second half, Brighton fizzled out. For all of their attacking talent, they didn't seriously trouble Pickford. For the last 30, Everton had a bit of swagger.
Toffees are still only in 16th, but 7 points clear of the drop; they are closer on points to Brentford in 11th than to Wolves and Ipswich. Of course it's too early, and of course Calvert-Lewin, who had looked rejuvenated, went off hurt ***again today, and all due caveats. I'm confident on current evidence that Dyche would not have kept us out of a relegation fight, and that Moyes will have us closer to mid table than the drop.
