Severe weather expected in the UK tomorrow. Football in Wales has already been canceled. Here's the Liverpool Echo on the situation ahead of tomorrow's Merseyside derby:

Everton officials are working with the emergency services and Liverpool Council amid preparations for a Merseyside derby with Liverpool on Saturday that is set to take place amid severe weather. Forecasters anticipate Storm Darragh will batter the UK over the coming days and the Met Office has placed Liverpool under an amber warning due to the strength of the winds predicted.

The match (12.30pm kick-off) is still set to go ahead - and games have been held amid weather warnings in the past - but the Blues and respective safety agencies will be following conditions closely. Merseyside Police, separately, is advising against "non-essential travel".

Re: the derby: barring an FA Cup draw, this will be the last time it's played at Goodison.

Even with the clubs at the opposite ends of the table, there is all to play for:

Over 130 years of football, Everton and Liverpool have played each other 119 times in senior matches at Goodison Park. Some 37 of these games have been drawn but with just one more Premier League meeting to come, each club has 41 victories apiece.

First installment was a 3-0 Everton win on October 13, 1894.

Ugh Pulisic subbed off with an ankle injury. He walked off, so hopefully not too bad.

I'm in Pittenweem in the East Neuk and the wind is loud as hell outside. I was gonna take a walk down the harbour, look at the boats, but it's pishing doon an aw.

If East Fife have a home tie, it'll be a cold yin.

Does Goodison get the wind? I can't imagine Ashley the Young will enjoy running into the face of a rumbling storm. It might however favour Darwin's errant shooting.

On the Everton chat boards this morning there are dark mutterings such as this

the thought of a gale wind redirecting Darwin’s shots onto frame is lovely

Darrah would actually direct Darwin's shots into the net.

We get to hear Neville make live reads for The Voice though. Bet he doesn't have to do that for Sky Sports.

Technically, this is El Sackico weekend between Wolves-Hammers

USA putting on Liverpool-Newcastle instead right now....

Palace out to an early lead over City.

City looked much better in attack with KDB back in the saddle (duh) but even at their best they were prone to giving away the odd goal. This version of city is something else entirely. Swap the kits and they could be any mid tier club:

It’s easier to enjoy Isak today. He’s a striker’s striker.

First Palace game I've had a chance to actually sit and watch in a while. Good start, and I've never ever been burnt before vs City so very optimistic!

Palace City ends 1-1. If they hadn't gotten at least a point I would have had a lot of feelings so will take what I can get

Just read West Ham's statement. Damn.

Michail Antonio is one of those players we don't talk about too much, but I think we all kinda love him. He runs himself into the ground on the pitch and we respect him hugely for being a proper pro.

Really hope everyone will be okay.

Forest jump out to a 0-1 lead against Manchester United on a Milenkovic header off a corner two minutes in.

From the West Ham twitter account.

"West Ham United can confirm that Michail Antonio is in a stable condition following a road traffic accident this afternoon in the Essex area.

Michail is conscious and communicating and is currently under close supervision at a central London hospital.

At this difficult time, we kindly ask everyone to respect the privacy of Michail and his family.

The Club will make no further comment this evening, but will issue a further update in due course."

[obviously don't know what caused this accident, having said that]... isn't this like the third or fourth car he's wrecked? I remember him crashing into someone's yard

What did Gibbs-White just do? Need to see the replay because Onana was baffled.

Wow. Amorim going to sub out the entire back end of his line up.

This is high comedy watching Onana try to place the ball for a free kick and ref telling him time and again to move it back during the last minute of stoppage time.

MLS Cup lineups are out. A lot rests on Gabriel Pec's shoulders as a result of Riqui Puig's ACL tear last week.

True, but Pec can but in a 2-way shift. If he and Pantsil can successfully press/hold down in the space between wingbacks and pivots, Tolkin and Harper can be isolated and overloaded on the wings.

It should be a great match up between tactics. I'm looking to see how Garces, Yoshida, & Cerrillo manage Forsberg among them. RBNY do a great job creating traffic through the middle, which allows Forsberg to lose his marker often.

Perfect ball. Not sure what line Harper was taking to the ball there. He put himself a step behind Pantsil.

RB just watching the game there. Even if Joveljic didn't take it himself, he had options to either side. But that was wonderfully taken.

RB had a nice storybook underdog run through the playoffs, but it feels like reality is catching up to them here.

Tolkin nutmegged on consecutive touches by 2 different players. Ouch.

Already more goals and offense than expected for a Red Bull team that has more grit than talent and a Puig-less Galaxy midfield.

Wow. Good chance for Pec is saved, and then Forsberg misses an opportunity on the other end.

Marco Reus (who, naturally, is banged up) is coming in soon.

The Galaxy hold on to win another one. They've been so bad for so long now that my reflexive dislike of them has faded a bit. They are a fun team that perhaps got a bit lucky that the heavyweights in the East all shat the bed in the playoffs. Finally making the obvious decision to jettison the Chris Klein / Jovan Kirovski regime has paid off, and their new GM Will Kuntz should be able to build on this team. They need to shore up the defense to stay at the top, but if they can build around Puig for many years to come, they'll be a force.

Hard for NYRB fans to feel too bad about this one. MLS Cup road games are tough, and just getting here is a huge overperformance for this group.

Shout to Diego Fugundez. Still just 29 years old!
It’s crazy. There are only 12 players who have ever played 400+ regular season games in MLS and he could join that club in his age 31 season.

Fulham's passing is a bit slack. Considering they're not seeing too much of the ball it's a problem.

They are currently a goal up, but it's a slow grind. You have to think Arsenal score at some point.

Do Fulham have another goal in them, cos Arsenal surely do.

Sounds like Arsenal have a fair few fans in the Cottage. Come on Fulham. Intae these Gooners.
