Agree on both and it’s arguably a just result. At the same time, its still a perplexing VAR non-correction. I mean, they saw what we saw, right?

The foul was clearly just outside the box. The announcers noted that and then rationalized why they could see the call standing.

Again, I get it. A terrible play. But the fact that it was really close isn’t grounds for saying it was actually inside the box. It wasn’t.

Also, the announcers criticizing the initial penalty save was very special.

I don't think Southampton are that far off. I know Liverpool weren't good today but Southampton didn't look like a Championship team out there - other than the insistance in playing out from the back when sometimes you just have to be pragmatic. If the manager swallows his pride a wee wee bit Southampton could put some results together.
