Right! No more International breaks for the forseeable which must be a boon even for you Americans - the most patriotic of God's mammals - so I'm told.

We got Leicester playing Chelsea and i better get this posted before some witless fool posts a thread with no quip.

Any quip is better than no quip.

Jackson scores for Chelsea. Not sure what Leicester were trying there but it didn't look good. Good finish from Jackson, but Leicester are not really in this match at the moment.

First real chance for Leicester - McAteer tries to curl one in to the far post, it's just wide. Then they get a corner. They're in the game now. They culd have been down to ten men, could hae been two goals down...

Then Ndidi, who should have been red carded earlier, just had a great chance and didn't even hit the target.

feels like a proper match now. Before it looked like a training match...

Still no shot on target for Leicester and only 5 touches in the opposition box (Chelsea have 33) . But they're only a goal behind. Cooper has to turn to his bench soon.

I expect Cooper to say something along the lines of "I feel we deserved to get something from the game" if things remain as they are. And as we all know the great ee cummings once wrote - since feelngs come first he who pays attention to the syntax of things shall never wholly kiss you - or something like that.

But a goal is what Leicester need and fortune favours the wealthy and the brave.

edit: Cooper went to his bench.

But Chelsea score a second. Ah well.

Some late in the game stat padding from the Foxes. But they're on the score sheet. Ayew with the pen.

Edit: I started rooting for Chelsea in parts of that match, out of sheer disgust for how lame Leicester were playing. I never root for Chelsea.

Foxes could have made it a game if they came out with urgency instead of parking the bus from the start. Too little to late ultimately.

Everton have had the typical lack of quality in front of goal but have been industrious and bright.

And they’ll be playing a man up after Norgaard gets a straight red. Went in for a ball close to goal and caught Pickford flush with his spikes. Harsh- he was trying to put the ball on goal- but reckless.

Norgaard gets a red for trying to take out Pickford's knee!
No malicious intent. But he did extend his leg straight out and plant his spikes right into the meat of Pickfords leg.

I’d expect him to get the 3 game rip reduced on appeal. He was trying to score, which is the mitigation. But if it happened between two outfield players it’s an easy red, no doubt.

Don’t look now, but quietly becoming a real goal threat is… Alex Iwobi. Beautiful strike. Love what Silva has done at Fulham.

They have to bag all three points today. Thirteen shots on goal in encouraging, only two on target is a concern. DCL needs a goal, but we've been saying that for a while now.

I love McNeil but his severe one-footed-ness is a problem. He’s been in on goal a couple of times but they just force him onto his right foot and he’s useless. I would much prefer Ndiaye as the 10 or 9 1/2 behind Dom- he’d provide better service and be more of a threat himself centrally - but Dyche insists on sticking him out wide.

Villa looking for the winner now it's 2-2 but some of the passing is a bit slack. Terrible conditions, slick surface, i get that but...

I feel for Palace, it was asking a lot to hang on to a slender lead...i guess it'll be a good point if the score stays as it is.

0-0 at Goodson, predictably.

27 shots for Toffees, 5 on target, none came close to a goal.

Everton three games straight without a score.

How many of those chances were good chances? I saw some clips from each half, but was busy doing stuff about the hoose. I'm asking cos i wonder, do they need a more clinical number nine or are they not creating enough clear cut chances...is it a broader problem, as you suggest earlier, with the forward line and with the build up play?

Maddison on a hat-trick. Long way to go here but Come on you Spu-uurs.

Edit: tell you what there's acres of space for Spurs if/when they beat the press.

All of the above but it’s first a lack of quality chance creation. Lots of hoofball, few really good opportunities.

Gad, they give the stat that the last two times City were down by two at the half they came back to win in the end.

If City do win this Ange will really be on a shoogly peg IMO.

So, what does City do in January? They seem to need a Rodri replacement of some kind but I don’t know who might be available, either for a loan or long term.

It brings me no joy to predict that they’re gonna get Zubimendi.

Tottenham just need to keep the heid and not to anything stupid or reckless or loose. Cos they have that in the locker. Keep 11 men on the park, take the sting out of the game.

I'm looking through Liverpool lenses.

Trust me, every Spurs fan knows we aren't out of the woods yet.

That being said, no matter how up-and-down Spurs have been in recent years, they've been a club unafraid of City and really take it to them in a way I don't think any other club has been able to over that stretch.

I’ve come to expect less and less out of first half Liverpool prior to Slot turning the gameplan in the second.
