If it's pushed, Biebs could come out of the bullpen for an inning or two if needed, I'm sure. If CLE wins, then he could still pitch Game 3 of the LCS.

Francona was pretty emphatic that the only plan for Bieber would be to start Game #1 in the ALCS if they win the next one. If the game would be postponed, Clase, Karinchak and Stephan would all have 3 days rest. Hentges and De Los Santos would have 2, and everyone else in the bullpen would have one and be available behind Civale. That's better than a tired Bieber.

Looks like it won't start on time. And I feel dirty after clicking on that tweet.

Tonight’s ALDS Game 5 game will begin in a delay. The forecast will be reassessed at 7:00 p.m.(ET) and we will provide updates as available.
Blame @rajendra82 ... without their jinxing YED, there wouldn't have been a Game 5 and you wouldn't have had to click on that tweet

In the regular season, it is the home team who decides on postponements if the game hasn’t started. In the playoffs, do the hone clubs cede that power?

Has a start time been announced? What are we doing here? I need to see the Yankees get bounced.

This should dampen (see what I did there) the crowd spirits somewhat. Which helps get us to YED

I would guess the opposite actually, the longer it goes before first pitch, the drunker and more revved up people will get. I don't think it matters much either way though.

I think it only gets ugly if Cleveland get ahead big and early.

I was there for game 3 in 2018. I brought my wife and ~75 year old parents and it was pretty intense on the way in, I was wondering if I'd made a mistake. But when the sox got ahead big and early, it wasn't ugly at all--the crowd died right quick.

If that should happen tonight, that stadium will empty quickly.

so weird I had to look it up. Post season numbers are pretty good

https://syndication.bleacherreport.com/amp/809071-orlando-el-duque-hernandez-former-new-york-yankees-postseason-hero-to-retire.amp.html

“While his regular season stats for his career aren't that impressive (90-65, 4.13 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 110 ERA+), it was in the postseason when he really shined. In 15 postseason series, he went 9-3 with a 2.55 ERA, a 1.24 WHIP and 107 strikeouts in 106 innings pitched.”
