Greatest Last Season Team

So Dan Haren retired. And it got me thinking. He had a pretty good year in 2015. But it was a great last season in the big leagues.
 
So what's the best last seasons ever? And could we make a competitive team of only players in their last seasons. Here's the only rule: it has to be the players last season regardless of how that last season came to be. The player could have died, been suspended, hurt or simply retired.

The same way Ted Williams can be listed as a DH. It's about putting together a roster, not being exact to every detail

Threw him as a long man/best option but obviously if we find better options, let's use them.

Cora WAR: in 1998: 2.1
 
I def. wouldn't bump anyone we have off the list for Clemens. Pettitte is a maybe I guess but it's not overwhelming enough to make a dent.

This is a great call. Adding Mussina to the list. Bumping Don WIlson to long relief and taking Haren off the list.

Keeping with Buck Weaver over Chipper but it's admittedly a tough call.
Sticking with Bostock over Adcock because he can play CF
Made Nilsson and Doerr starters.
Added Wagner and Zimmerman.

I would nominate WIn Mercer as a competitor for Cicotte's spot: 1902 (15-18 [for a 52-85 team], 3.02 ERA, 122 ERA+, 33 GS).  Plus, he had a career 87 OPS+ as a hitter, and played over 200 games at other positions, including all four infield positions and the outfield.

If you went with "rookie" seasons as measured by ROY eligibility I think the rookies would crush them-Trout, Fred Lynn, Nomar in 97 are all time great seasons, not just rookie seasons.  But even if you limit it to just the greatest true "first" season, you still get Ted Williams in 39 ( .327/.436/.609), which should put him on both lists.
