Gmail Inbox Label Management on an Android

I have a Motorola Droid and am frustrated with Gmail inbox management.

Despite the claim that Gmail files only one copy of each email, it is placing all incoming email under the Inbox label, but then also placing some email under one or more additional labels (e.g., Priority Inbox, Important, All Mail).

Deleting an email under one label does not delete all instances of that "single" email, leaving me in some cases to have to delete the same email up to 3-4 times.

I created none of these labels. I assume they are system defaults. I have created no label rules.

I have gone through the available settings and under "Account Settings" see a "Manage labels" option. It lists all labels but provides no way of deleting, editing, or adding.

I would like to delete all labels other than Inbox. I've looked online and can't find anything that quite fits this issue. The closest I've come is this page, when selecting "Android", directs the user to hover their mouse (sheesh) over the label, click the down arrow, and remove the label. Right.

Any ideas?

I changed to Inbox by Google and don't sort or file emails anymore. I haven't had a single regret about it.

This. I loved Gmail. It was the best email going. I dropped it in a second and never looked back. I'm only now using it again because my work email is Gmail, but I still send my personal account to Inbox.

Inbox is the shit.

At first i thought Inbox was stupid (no idea why, I think I was just used to Gmail and resistant to change) , but after people kept pumping it up i gave it a try. I have no idea how i used the Gmail app before. Inbox is a game changer for me.

Nice to hear! Have you played with the snooze function yet? It's great for personal mails you would like to wait for the weekend to answer.
