Yeah, it’s been a pretty odd situation all year with him, but on the other hand he’s said for a while he thinks he just needs two weeks of ABs to be ready. There are only 11 games left though, and he still might not be activated when the homestand starts on Tuesday. If Tauchman and Hicks weren’t out too, it would be much less of a big deal, any of those three plus Gardner can cover LF/CF but all three out leaves them with a hole. Fingers crossed...

If Maybin can get to at least average production, the team will be in better position. But he’s been beyond atrocious and completely lost at the plate. The last time he had a multi-hit game was August 8 but has been 8 for 60 with 6 walks since or an eyesore OBP of around .235. On a positive note he plays good defense and has speed, but if Stanton is not a reality for the postseason then perhaps Wade might be an option?

But, yeah Stanton is really needed.

Honestly if Encarnacion is back (unclear) and Stanton isn’t (also unclear), Urshela in LF might make the most sense. He did it briefly in an emergency earlier this year and looked good, but highly doubtful they try that.

He's only under contract through 2020, so you guys can start building around him again in 2021.
