Surprised he didn't do the typical Globe sports columnist career path of sticking around for 50,000 years.

Hope he's still on the Sports Hub with Felger on Friday and Saturday. I really enjoy him on the radio especially with Murray on Saturday mornings.
Same. He's a breath of fresh air for me.

It'll never happen but I'd love to hear his thoughts on the Pats N95 mask delivery hit piece by the Globe.

Given that he was a columnist, and that local TV sports gets about 36 seconds per half-hour broadcast, this *seems* like a step down. Weird.

The long term viability for columnists isn't very bright and the stability of a tv gig has to be enticing at this point.

Guessing there's zero chance he'll be on F&M Fridays anymore. Would assume his tv contract has some sort of 'no compete' clause, ie no appearances on other tv stations.

Wasn't Roche on TSH for a while? He hasn't been on for a long time though.
I imagine any no-compete doesn't apply to the radio station, it applies to the simulcast on Comcast.

Also, I think when Roche was doing spots on the radio station, it was still CBS-owned, just like his day job.

Roche is still on T&R from time to time, and Gaspar said today he'd still be on Gaspar and Murray, so I think he can still be on F&M.

Wonder if Gasper will still use "straight from the thesaurus" words on his sportscasts, which have been a trademark of his columns. The only person I can remember on TV that did that was Clark Booth.

I doubt that. The fact the he tweeted something to the affect of "people have been asking, and yes, I'll be on Murray & Gasper tomorrow!" without a mention of F&M is telling.

when Gasper was asked about his weekly F&M appearance it sounded like a very awkward response of "yea, we'll see what happens I probably can"

It sounded like the girl you're breaking up with assuring you that you guys will still be friends

(BTW he's good with Murray because Murray is a moron who openly admits to hating sports and Gasper is somewhat knowledgeable and a non-douche)
