That he already has found his next job means Spurs are only expected to have to pay his wages for the next couple of months until this summer when he takes the helm at Roma.

That boost with funds now not heading out of the club could help Tottenham in their search for Mourinho's permanent successor.

Never doubt Levy will get the better end of a deal.

Thinking about it from the Roma perspective - maybe they think Jose will get the most out of this old squad next season, put them back in the UCL, and give them the necessary revenue to turn over the roster? Not a plan I would bank on...

Chris Smalling and his bad feet survived Jose once, hopefully, he can do it again.
