NBC calls ETH's formation a 4-2-2-2. Forgotten man Mason Mount up top, did I see that right?

ESR and Iwobi joyous at being reunited.

Come on boys.

HATE the curvy stripes on the shorts on the adidas uniforms. Utd have them red-on-white, Fulham have them red-on-black, it looks like a practice scrimmage at a junior high school with shitty uniforms

Fulham looking lively. Onana had a very good save on a shot just under the bar. I don't expect him to keep a clean sheet. Fulham getting into great positions and they have some malice.

Zirkzee with a clever little misdirection from the middle of the box at 86'. Cruel for Fulham, but their promising forays ended up going down blind alleys. They Traore'd themselves iow.

xG solidly favors Utd 2.72 - 0.48. Bruno missed a couple of sitters. Guess xG didn't love a lot of what Fulham did, they were getting into some nice spots but not much end product.

United’s kits are an absolute mess. They look sweaty from behind and they look like they’re assembled from random cuts of vaguely related red fabric.

Maguire picking up a first half yellow for diving proves he’s as stupid as ever.

Bruno’s tantrums are wonderful. Just what you want from your captain.

Adama Traore figured out that you can kick the ball with less than 100% effort. If he can combine that with a hint of accuracy… He might finally fulfill some of that potential we all see.

The teams looked disorganized, awkward, and I couldn’t be happier to have watched the Premier League again.

Ipswich are very physical. Emotions are high, they’re probably committing more fouls than will be sustainable over a match.

Liverpool’s buildup makes innate sense but is super high risk. Ipswich are throwing a CB into the midfield to make up for the numbers. If Liverpool break the lines as intended, they’ll be through 4v3.

Salah has found himself on the line looking to cut back an awful lot in this system, and the need to get it on his left foot to play is brutal.

The way Liverpool are breaking lines is impressive. They’re baiting the Ipswitch energy. Fatigue is going to blow this open.

it’s a tough task, going to a newly promoted side for their first top flight home game in many years. Agree the smart play is the rope a dope, let them punch themselves out

These Pool kits are terrible. The yellow, the collar, the pinstripes- it’s like a melange of bad design elements all pasted into the same proof of concept

Greaves looks like the archetype of my least favorite type of player- the fake hard. Makes borderline tackles one second, goes flying at the slightest touch the next.

@OCST- agreed on the kit. Awful from the second they were announced. The switch to Adidas can’t come quickly enough. ManU debacle aside, Adidas is on an absolute hot streak right now. The throwback thirds they just announced (Juventus in particular) are absolutely stunning.

Dom going off for a second brings to mind how handicapped Slot’s system would be down a man. The entire goal is to create a 4v4 on the break. That evaporates with a missing man.

This camera angle isn’t my favorite, but it lets you see how tight the spaces are.

Oooooo Diogo!!

the Ipswich defender with a welcome to the EPL moment when he tried to stop short and trap Mo…and Mo is agile enough to stay on and then blitz past.

Side note, we’re going to hear some version of “Mistake by Alisson” or “Giveaway by Van Dijk!” a few times this season.

Salah!

Ipswich #3 beat again. He’s gonna be seeing Mo in his nightmares.

In case anyone was wondering, semi autonomous offsides isn’t fully ready yet but will be fully introduced during the fall international break.
