You didn’t!!! Amazing first half, and the negative gameplan in the second half didn’t go wrong this time. Really nice to see them close out a win without making me nervous.

I always want to wait until it’s mathematically done (especially since Palace is at 28 games played, compared to a lot of the competition which has as few as 24), but I’m feeling confident about a 10th consecutive PL season with 33 points and 10 games to go.

Edit: @Mr Jums have you seen the Amazon documentary or checked out The Five Year Plan podcast?
I remember you recommending FYP to me and I started to listen to it but did it in the way I often do with podcasts which is while doing work and I realized that at least to start I'd actually have to focus a bit more because I wasn't following very well. So that (and the documentary which I've heard of but haven't seen) are on the to do list!

Oof, Everton are bad. 39 minutes in, Spurs are 3-0 up, it could easily be 5, and Everton haven't attempted a shot yet.

Everton are trying to press Spurs and play a high line but they have neither the personnel nor the tactical cohesion to execute it. It's a total disaster.

Yeah, Spurs beat Man City twice playing those tactics and they actually have good players.

Spurs then ripped leeds 4-0 when they played similar tactics. So, go for it Everton I guess.

The Guardian's live feed is comically brutal. Some recent entries:

The half ends with Holgate smashing the ball into Michael Keane’s face. That sums it up for Everton, for whom the defending has been farcical, feckless and, frankly, rubbish.
Van de Beek is doing some complaining, as well he might. Now how apart getting in the way of some Tottenham runners from midfield? Two minutes are added on.
Van de Beek, part of a midfield that has allowed Tottenham to cut through them like a knife through warmed Kilvert’s lard, tries to play in Richarlison. It’s neat and tidy but it’s lightweight stuff.

Everton are playing like a team who know they aren't going to get paid the rest of the season because their owner's assets are tied up with a sanctioned Russian oligarch.

Just popping in to let you know that I gave up social media for Lent, so you won't be seeing me.

Although following this club may be penitence enough.

Oh look, it's goal #4, 40 seconds into the half.

See you in April.

It's great seeing Tottenham cut through people and everyone fill the net up with goals; but I take no joy in doing this to Everton. The EPL will be worse if Everton goes down.

I understand this statement as a matter of "I like this club" principle, but it does not seem to be true based on the football evidence.

I would have said the same a decade ago about Leeds and Newcastle and now all three might go down, as unlikely as that might be. Pro-Rel is one of the things I love about the domestic leagues in Europe and that I hated about the Super League idea. I don't necessarily root for teams to go down but I love that new teams (and Norwich) come up every year or two. Course I also liked away goals as a leveler so maybe my taste is actually the issue here...

Why would they not try the "pack it in" strategy that the Spurs can NEVER EVER EVER solve. It makes no sense.

That strategy relies on defenders not making calamitous fuck-ups, so I’m not sure how well Everton could’ve pulled it off even if they went for it.

As Spurs fans who watched Jose games, we should know how well “dig in and hold on” works with a back line of arsonists.
