The Guardian reports that Bentancur has remained in the locker room to get treatment, as in not rushed off to the hospital for something scary and severe.

edit: update - he’s awake & chatting, but heading to the hospital for tests.
Broken jaw is what BEIn sports is reporting.

Allison almost broke my spirit with that mess up.

The 718
not offside imo - think the defender closest to the near touchline was playing him on -- but agreed not clear & obvious enough to overturn

Bizarre that wasn’t a yellow, but bizarre that the Diaz no-contact tackle was one so it comes out in the wash for me.

Yeah, it doesn't work like that. He knows he got the first card and he still recklessly went in the second time and made contact with the studs. You don't get a freebie card to use later.

I’m not saying it was correct, it was an insane decision and he got lucky. Advantage saved his ass most likely, refs often get goofy about both playing advantage and giving a card.

I'd buy the offsides being dicey and I still don't understand why we can't get a camera closer to midfield in these giant stadiums.

In the postgame show, the studio team is crushing the referee for blowing the second yellow call. Christina Unkel is coming up after the break to talk about it.

Did not see the Spurs defensive MASH unit blanking Liverpool today, with a keeper they signed 20 minutes before the match getting the clean sheet, and their best midfielder KO'ing himself in the first half.

Big gamble pays off for now for Ange. He basically punted the Newcastle game earlier this weekend to get the team ready for this cup tie and it paid off.

The other tough part is that Tsimikas was still off the field from the challenge, leading to the space for Solanke down the Liverpool left.

Seems Slot cares about this cup given the lineup, so would expect a strong lineup for the home leg

Unkel making the point that the referee didn't even raise his arm for advantage so he's saying with his body language that he missed the foul altogether, not just the yellow. And she's killing him for missing a call that is a yellow three different ways (reckless, tactical and late).

I'm just glad we don't have to hear Klopp cry about this.
At least this time they get a replay at Anfield!

The punditry on this is insane. Bergvall was lucky to not pick up the second yellow.

Player x was lucky to not pick up a second yellow is a sentence I could write for 70 percent of soccer games I’ve seen.

I missed this live but seeing it now. So it should have been 10v11 and instead it was 11v10. It’s an amazing point and really makes the decision so much worse.

I mean, he didn’t get subbed off so maybe he should have just got up and kept playing then?

They were trying to draw the card.

G2 is going to be rough. Good luck Spurs!

Newcastle would love to see them in the Finals
