Haven’t watched this one. Is Utd bad or is Palace good?
Edit: didn’t see Fletch

palace have been dreadful on the counter squandering a ton of good opportunities. United have controlled more but I haven’t felt like Greenwood and Rashford trying to come inside has truly threatened much

Palace are set up pefectly to play on the counter attack. Loads of pace up front. They're well organised. A sub par Utd performance to boot...some sloppy play in the final third. Not done yet though. 1-2.

Wilf is on fire. That should have been his 4th of the season (offside last week that probably shouldn’t have been). I think he had four all last season.

astride the divide
Two quick scores for Brighton, inside of 10 minutes. Maupay has both, one a PK earned by Lamptey. Maupay hasn't been overly reliable from the spot but he put this one right down the middle. Only 10 minutes in; great start.

The Liverpool match? Please say it ain’t so.
Nope. That one is on USA. The 7 AM Spurs/Southampton match.

My main issue with Peacock and ESPN+ is that as a non cord cutter I'm getting double charged. I already have all the ESPN and NBC channels, but now I have to buy them all again for the 5% of content exclusively on Peacock or +.

Peacock has all of the old NBC Sports Gold material. I paid for Gold, so I’m actually coming out a bit ahead I guess compared to last season, as Peacock includes more programming at the same price.

There may be more games on subscription TV now than last season, but it’s not clear to me yet whether that’s deliberate or whether it’s the no-fan schedule with every game played alone. Liverpool clearly was less likely to be on Gold it seemed last year.

As a fan of a non big-6 team, I’m kinda used to this.

Now that I’ve ponied up, my primary bitch about Peacock is that it’s a beta. The feature list (specifically pausing and fast forwarding) is missing. What the fuck? The frame rate is also way down. When I take a screenshot I can see three balls on the screen at the same time when the ball is hit hard.

Also, I had to side load it on my FireTV Stick, and my mother in law’s Roku has to wait a few weeks. It’s bush league to cut out all of those subscribers until they can get their money grubbing act together.

Finally, I paid for the highest tier yet I’m still subjected to stream-start ads for... the tier I’m subscribed for. Fuck off.

I pay for ESPN+ mostly for MLS, but having Bundesliga on it now is a huge bonus. RB Leipzig - Mainz right now with a close eye on Tyler Adams.

I personally don't care about the EPL nearly enough to spring for Peacock, but I feel for you all, as unbundling cable packages is slowly turning into a nightmare for all of us in different ways.

You are probably on to something about the every game played alone. Last year games would only get pushed to Gold when there was already a game on NBC Sports (or just NBC). So I'm used to that if there's a game or games being played there's at least one televised, which is great background noise when I'm up early with toddlers, so the idea that there's a game being played and it's not on rather than only pushing conflicting stuff to Gold is frustrating.

I think most are on Peacock this weekend because NBCSN is showing the final weekend of the Tour de France.

FYI, I was surprised yesterday that I was able to sign up for Peacock for free through Xfinity (go to the Sports guide view, pick the EPL game, and the free offer popped up). Check your cable providers!

Xfinity and Cox. It’s right on the signup page.

So, this Heung-Min Son guy, pretty good? Also I believe Kane had more assists today than he has had over like, the last two seasons combined.

I think the Liverpool Chelsea match is on peacock only. The first two weeks the majority of games have been on peacock, forcing me to subscribe. I posted about it in the tv thread but I have to subscribe to espn+ for ufc and Domestic cup competitions, as well as serie a and bundesliga. Peacock for Premier League, and CBS All Access for champions league.

As maniac said above, peacock is in its infancy but some features are really needed. The ability to pause and ff. Also if you want to start watching a live game late, I don’t think you have the option to which is a real killer.

between internet, YouTube tv, the subscriptions above, im basically back to my cable price. Though cable would be more expensive when you factor in renting the boxes.

Only one center back in the LIverpool match day squad today, could be a goal fest.

Also, there have been no draws yet in the PL season.

Who else won’t pony up for Peacock so you’re watching the Canadian Premier League championship? A very defensive first half. On turf. Yikes.
