Certainly cheaper, but since my wife is a third degree black belt in tae kwon do, when she wakes up I will be getting roundhouse kicked to the face. That would suck.

She knows the deal when it comes to the Bruins. It's a team game.

The fuck? Unless this is court-ordered, I can't think of even one good reason to spend time with your ex over watching a Bruins game seven. I'm still married and I'm not even spending time with my wife during the game.

Also, to answer RedOctober's question, watch it alone. I have never understood people who choose to watch critical sports games or regular NFL games among strangers at bars or non-fan acquaintances unless that's the only way they can see the game. Before I got Sunday Ticket, I would go out to watch the Pats on Sunday. Now? Fuck that noise. Last year we tried cord-cutting, so I would go out to watch the Bruins games that I couldn't bootleg a feed for. Now? Stay the fuck away from me, I'm not interested in your job, your family, your latest sexual conquest, etc., and no, I don't have to give Carey Price his due, I don't have to respect P.K. Subban's skill. I can barely tolerate Pierre McGuire, I don't want to hear you talking over the game too.

So, the basic idea from everyone is "FUCK EVERYTHING THE BRUINS ARE IN GAME 7".

I second(or twelfth) that notion.  Fuck everything.  Go Bruins.  Win.

The event is the "Senior Dinner" for my HS graduating daughter.  There's no out, and she deserves my support and presence.

Older daughter has just flown in, and as usual is bringing the drama and will likely try to make it all about her. There's so much that can go wrong.

Can't they just Skype you in as you watch the game?  I mean, we're talking priorities here.

OK, that's a little different than spending the evening with the ex, even if the ex will be there.

It's awfully buggy (I can't get it to work right on my iPhone 5s with a DirecTV login), but if you have one of the participating cable/satellite providers, you can theoretically watch the game on the NBC Sports LiveExtra app.

I have the hockeystreams android app. Phone is charging now.  The guy I used to split Thrashers tickets with will be there, but I don't think he's sitting at our table. Ideally, I'll have the ex sit on the side of my nearly deaf ear.

A final 4 featuring NY, Chicago, and Montreal would be kind of disgusting. So if the Bs could go out and kick the holy shit out of Les Scabs I'd really appreciate it.

Closest Boston bar that I have found in Chicago is north of the city 1.5 hours away, and my wife and her entire family are obnoxious Hawks fans, so I can't watch it with them.  I'm considering taking my laptop into the closet and finding an illegal stream someplace and have 2+ hours to myself.....Fuck the Habs, Go Bruins.  Break shit.  Win.

I cannot continue on to read page three of this game  thread because my company's internet filter pops up and says that it is blocked due to sexual content.

I am taking this as a good omen for tonight.

Oh my,  Monbo I am with you in more ways than you can know. You are doing God's work, and as Joe Dokes said you will be rewarded with good karma. My evening is broken up by somewhat similar circumstances, but smaller time frames. I will have the game on DVR and will be able to catch it in spurts. The things we do for our kids will be rewarded. A Canadiens fan would not make such sacrifices, and they will pay with an embarassing loss.

By the way: I want no drama. I want an embarassing defeat for the Canadiens on the scale of a whipping.  One, my heart cannot take a close game; and two, I wish the Canadiens to be humiliated.

You must mean 1.5 miles right? Tripoli Tap is the big one right in Lincoln Park on Armitage. That's where I'll be tonight, they're the only show in town for Boston sports and they're always packed for big games. Great atmosphere.

Just checked with a Chicago friend, he also said Brendan's Pub on N. Broadway is also a Boston bar. No idea how good, but worth a shot.

I went there for the Pats season opener last year, and it had about 5 people there 10 minutes before kickoff, so headed to Tripoli to find about 150+ there in Pats gear. No idea how this thread took a turn to Boston sports bars in Chicago, but here's to getting it back on track.

Turning this into a Churchill-themed thread is a detour up with which I will not put, but this ^^^ deserves some love.

Driving home today I passed a cop stationed on the side of the road.  Up a ways somebody was hauling down the straightaway, so I gave him a little head's up that there was some potential trouble ahead.  Make/model?  Honda Civic.  I did my part.

Bobby Orr will be in the house tonight. Montreal is already fucked.

I cleaned my apartment to get rid of nervous energy as I'm moving in 2 weeks. It only riled me up even more. Fuck cleaning, fuck packing, and fuck the Habs.

Leave no doubt.

Oh boy.  That couldn't have ended well.

The bear begs to differ.

Nothing will ever erase 1971 and 1979, but winning another cup going through Montreal would be sweet once again.

Plus, I don't want the Habs moving on to play the Rangers (as in 1979) and Chicago (as in 1971), SO, fuck them, end their season tonight.

Make it happen Bruins.
