Over the past 12 hours, there's been a sour uneasiness in the air - the same you feel spotting someone from high school you don't want to talk to. Eyes shift downwards. Nervous tics surface. Buttholes clench. Canoes drift downstream.

Nancydom is on the rise.

The Bruins have been here before. 3 years ago, they vanquished their personal game 7 demon and won against another band of pissants wearing the same sweaters. McQuaid's pinch to Horton's shot off Halpern's skate. Though none of these guys will be in tomorrow's game, the story will be the same. The Bruins are the best team in hockey right now - it's time to step up and prove it against an inferior opponent.

Carey Price, behind his mediocre blue-line of visored tough guys, has been protected by nearly a dozen posts and crossbars, two instances of spinning pucks not crossing the goal line, and a series full of slow releases by Bruins forwards. That changes tomorrow.

The Bruins will come out with anger and tempo, score two in the first, and win 4-1. Above all, though:

Protect the Civic.

Here
I'm whipping out the beer/champagne-stained autographed Orr jersey for this one. This is the 4th game I have done so; in each of the prior 3 games, the Bruins scored exactly 4 goals in regulation. Score 4 goals, limit them to less than 4 goals. Simple.

The time for fucking around is over.

All I want is to see a shot of a Montreal square, where thousands of fake French fucks gather to watch the complete demolition of their piece of shit team. I want to see the tears come out of their eyes, and all of their hopes vanish into thin air. And as Dirty Water is blaring at the Garden, cars are being turned over and/or set ablaze.

Not the Civic, though.

I'm setting the over/under on posts hit by the Bruins at 1.  It better be, and will be, the under due to the fact they have hit the inside of the twine.

Fuck the Habs.

It's time for Krejci to break out of his slump and get serious.

After tomorrow night's game, I will venture a few blocks east with a lawn chair and a six-pack to protect my Civic for a couple of hours following the game. I will see children crying to their parents ... I will see city buses with hilariously outdated "GO CANADIENS GO" electronic banners. Bob Cole will perish on the air from the asspounding the Bruins will bestow upon his team of whining, diving pussies. I will see a city of rats, in their tear-stained counterfeit jerseys, crawling back to their holes.

Win.

Terras Veritas is the greatest of all humans. We shall be in the house tomorrow night to protect the aforementioned Civic.

The Bruins match up so well with the Rangers. Don't let this opportunity go.

Will be in NYC tomorrow night for the game, probably in the Herald Square/MSG area (I arrive at Penn Station at 6:45 PM). Any recommendations for bars to watch the game? I would go to Professor Thom's but it will be more than packed by then and I won't get there until after puck drop. I'm hoping for a good tv sports bar first, a place that makes a killer Old Fashioned second.

Another original six match looms. First Detroit, then Montreal, when the Bruins win, then the Rangers. And Chicago possible. It would be a unique and fun coincidence. But to come true, take care of business against Les Habitants. Beat Montreal.

The Bruins have been playing the Ultimate Warrior's music a lot since he passed, especially during the PP. May the Warrior spirit fill their veins, give them strength, vanquish their enemy.

I walked down by MSG back in September and looking to burn time at a bar by having a drink and was underwhelmed by the choices around there. As in my cursory glances saw like two bars. So I am of no help but to say the TD Garden, where I will be tomorrow night, has a much better bar scene.

Oh and may Chara's Warrior feel the power of the Warrior tomorrow.

The Flying Puck. 7th Ave and 30th, I think. Thom's has had tables locked up by like 5:45. I was lucky enough to have a friend who got there early. If I end up there—I have a late afternoon meeting in that neighborhood and I could just decide to stay in that area—I'll "alert the social media."

Stout on 33rd is a decent spot and I know there are others on that street too. Nothing like around the TD Garden though.

Will absolutely check this out. I don't need a table, I will likely be solo and just want somewhere to watch the game. Will this be filled by puck drop? Last thing I want is to be stuck outside searching for a bar.

Between here and everywhere.
I was home or able to watch games 1, 3, and 6.

I'm on the road today and will be missing most of the game.

I'm not as upset about this as I should be.

May 14th is my good buddy's birthday.

May 14th, 2009 - Game 7 vs Carolina (we were both in attendance)
May 14th, 2010 - Game 7 vs Philadelphia (I've actually struck this day from my memory, only reason I know it exists is because of the internet)
May 14th, 2011 - Game 1 vs Tampa Bay (watched together on TV)

This shit needs to change.

TFP knows, but I was at both of those game 7s.

I will not be attending this evening. I may actually hide in bed.

I go to bed thinking of this game and I woke up thinking of this game.  It's games like this that remind me of why I love sports.  Rivals going at it for a chance to extend their seasons.  TD Garden better be an absolute basket case tonight.  I want it loud from the time the teams take the ice for warmups.  We need the best home ice advantage.

Is it 7:30 yet?

Just cut the careless shit out tonight. No freebie breakaways, odd man rushes and other gift wrapped scoring chances. Be strong on the puck, be sure and strong with passes. When in doubt, send it off the wall and down the ice, not right up the middle. The Bruins are the better team, they should win if they play their game.

Follow up to my post earlier about watching the game in an NYC bar. Be mercifully honest.

Is it a douche move to wear my Bergeron jersey to the bar by myself? I feel like yes it is a douche move, but still want to do it from a karma perspective. Need a bunch of second opinions to set me straight.

Nick Esasky and Myt1 can certainly tell you that he is much jollier and more fun to be around than I am. I actually have 4 different friends with a birthday today and it's also the birthday of another friend's late father who was a huge Bruins fan. It's quite the day.

Maybe it's because I live in a city where everyone is from somewhere else, but I don't know why it would be. People wear jerseys to bars to watch their team play all the time in DC.

Also, while no shangri-la, the Westside Brew House Bar and Restaurant is near MSG, has three or four large screen TVs behind the bar, and probably won't be packed at game time. It's connected to a Four Points hotel, but if your prime interest is watching a game, drinking booze, and the occasional snack while not fighting for a seat, this might fit the bill.

Dammit I just realized that the last game I watched in NYC was Game 7 against the Capitals 2 years ago at Rathbones.

Everything is pointing to a win tonight.

A new frozen yogurt place just opened near my house today.  I take this as a good omen.
