Reality is this was a team built to win with special teams. Whistles go swallowed had them working from behind. Game needed to be called tight but straight up.

Update: the Blues also complained about my middle finger and I’ve been ejected from the Garden
I'm sure they were just as offended when the Blues fan flipped off Nordstrom last game right in front of the camera after he got creamed right....

What’s this deal with Rask’s legacy? Before tonight many across the nation were arguing that Rask deserved the Conn Smythe trophy win or lose. That’s obviously not happening after tonight, but he’s been incredible despite the team’s performances.

Truthfully, if you go into the other team's barn and win 3, you deserve it.

That's what I told the Toronto folks before game 7 of that series, and its's true here, too. .250 at home doesn't cut it in any sport, at any time of year

California. Duh.
I'm convinced the Bruins are the better team. Unfortunately tonight the other goalie was hot and the bounces didn't go their way. Disappointing, but still really proud of the team.

I love this team, but man, what a let down with all the top teams going down in the first two rounds.

I really hate that the Blues won games via headhunting and taking out players (especially vs San Jose and us).

I also really hate that referees played a pivotal role in deciding games.

Pretty happy to be moving to Germany in a few days, it’ll be nice to disconnect from the US and this loss until next season.

I'm really not sure if you give the CS to ROR or JB. Overall both were amazing, JB might have cemented it with tonight, even though it's obviously a full postseason award.

But man, I feel empty. Void. Incomplete, never to be filled. Hate how they played, but congrats to the genuine Blues fans. Hope they can enjoy the moment. Don't think the Bruins will be back soon. Too old of a top F team, even though I love the young D corps depth.

Marchand's face made me legit want to cry. :(

Let's boo the fuck out of Bettman. We can get that done correctly tonight, RIGHT?

Stop crying. They put the puck in the net four times and their rookie goalie stood on his head. Does he not count as part of their team?
A. why am I not allowed to cry in a game thread?

B. I would say relying on your goalie to keep you in the game is a pretty terrible strategy and means you have been badly outplayed. It works on occasion, but more often than not it doesn't. So I stand behind my point that they did not play better tonight.

The Bs showed a lot of heart, but no one seemed to have the fortitude to muck it up right in front of the net. Binnington had it far too easy considering the number of shots because it was all one and done, no fear of legal or illegal interference.

It happens all the time that a hot goalie leads to a deep playoff run or championship. How can you not have the goalie count as part of the team. It’s like saying the Diamondbacks only beat the Yankees in the WS because their starters were better even though the Yanks had the better team.

I feel zero respect for that organization
Agree. Zero. And I mean zero. I expected a loss to at least be calmer by the folks I know from there before the series. Yeah no. Never again. That team can fuck right off, and that's understating my boiling mind right now.

not just 3/4, the last 3 games at home they all lost.

you blow a team out two times on the road, you should win the series every time. it was a weird series.

The game thread after a tough season ending loss is not the place to use reason and be rational.

Do you think that it was a strategy to rely on their goalie to keep them in the game?

Teams that score four goals and shut you out until garbage time and don’t take advantage of some horde of egregious officiating or bounce or bolt of lightning or earthquake deserve to win. It’s pretty much the definition of sports and why the scoreboard doesn’t show Corsi factor.

You’ve probably been drinking more than I have, so you can have the last word if you’d like.

This is a tough one to take. One of the best and most likable Bruins teams of the past 25 years — skill, toughness, heart, personality — and they fall a game short.

That first goal was big and the second was crushing. After that, St. Louis slowed the Bruins down, kept the Bruins out of the slot, and Binnington was as good as he needed to be.

I am so disappointed. I like this team so much.

What a shitty way to end this great, great postseason. Just way too many defensive breakdowns and eventually Rask wasn't going to bail everyone out all the time. If anyone shits on Rask for this game, you would be showing that you don't know much about hockey. You can argue that 1 goal was one he should have stopped. When the best players on the team make breakdown after breakdown, you aren't winning. Tuukka Rask was the reason they were still playing hockey.

Just really tough to swallow getting this far again after 6 years & lose like this. You just never know if you will get another chance. Teams that lose the cup finals have pretty much never made it back the following year outside of Crosby in 09. Just tough, tough, tough

1-2 in the finals. Tough to swallow
Jim Kelly would have given what's left of his jaw to go 1-3 in the Super Bowl.

Getting here at all is still a fucking accomplishment, and came with the bonus of ending 3 teams' seasons personally. It always sucks when a run ends, and sucks more the closer you get, but I still had a shit-ton of fun watching them and we should be glad we've gotten to watch 3 SCFs and won one of them.

So many what-ifs this series. Like, pretty sure this is over in 5 if they get a lucky bounce in Game 2. Over in 6 if the officials didn’t get absolutely worked by Berube. The missed fucking slewfoot. Or if certain injuries didn’t happen or were less severe. Two losses down a D-man. What a fucking miserable series of 4 losses.

That was the most frustrating playoff series I’ve ever witnessed.
This sucked but at least they showed up. The Habsburg Game 7 a few years ago fucking killed me.

Felger & Maz will shape it as you will assume because fans are dumb.
