Look, I know we got bigger fish to fry here... but does anyone have any inkling as to where Brady might be today? I know he gets inundated with requests and I know he doesn’t owe us a damn thing. That said, I’d love for it to come out after the fact that he couldn’t be in the Garden tonight because he’s on another continent with Giselle and two other Angels helping him work on his pliability.

Any chance we get a Rene anthem? I love the new guy but I think him showing up would contribute to blowing the roof off the place before the game
Nah, this is Todd's show now. He'll be slinging beers in the SportsDeck, head downstairs and change, belt out the anthem, and get back to work. Fits right in with this team.

I don't think Rene will even be watching the game tonight.

I would like to ‘Like’ this post.

p.s. what makes you think Rene is gonna skip a winner take all game in Boston? Sure, he’s seen a lot of hockey, but with the connection he has with this team, him taking a pass on this one surprises me.

Between here and everywhere.
I had to leave the office.

1. I just couldn’t pretend to work anymore.
2. I got some real bummer news about some career stuff I was really excited about.

Now I really need a win tonight.

Going to a going away party happy hour after work at a local brewery. I am going to be a sloshy mess BY puck drop, to say nothing of my condition come 11pm or whenever the final buzzer sounds.

Funny job at trolling. When you watch the Bruins skate around TD Garden with the Cup at least you will have the memories of the Cardinals beating the Red Sox in the World Series..oh wait....oh well at least you can look back fondly on that Super Bowl title in '01....oh wait..

Mod edit: Don't feed the trolls, thanks.

Did you join the board just to post this? If so, that says a lot about your life.

Sorry it's been so disappointing up until now. It might get better, but, fingers crossed, not tonight.

Well, if he's old enough he might. '67 was only 50 years ago.

LFG. Finish the job. Pucks on net, crash the net for rebounds & clear the puck out of the D zone.

Now now, that's ageist. Dude might be 80 and have fond memories of Enos Slaughter from when he was 7.

Never read about that Berube-Worrell incident before today. I hate this team even more. Embarrass these faux tough guy, diving, cheap shot artist losers and skate into immortality tonight.

I don't think it is an exaggeration at all to say the future of the NHL is at stake tonight.
We know most professional leagues are copycat leagues because there are only so many Bill Belichick's of the world that actually revolutionize the game instead of play follow the leader.
What we have tonight is one team that has lucked its way into the finals by literally playing late-90s/early 2000s hockey before there were suspensions for head shots and clutching and grabbing was the norm, not the exception. On the other side is a much more skilled and disciplined team that, if not for some unreported and serious reported injuries combined with BS officiating, rolls their opponent in 4-5 games.

If the first team in NHL history with multiple suspensions in a SCF somehow raises the cup tonight we are headed straight back to the NHL dark ages, that period no one likes to talk about. B's must win to ensure the Krystof Oliwas and Ken Baumgartners of the world don't start getting calls from GMs. Instead ensure the Sean Kuraly's of the world are the norm not the exception for 4th liners.

Don't just win it for Boston, win it for the sanctity of the NHL.

In Orlando for a conference. Any suggestions for a good bar if the conference events tonight aren't showing game? We're in the 8000-9000 range of international drive

PSK led us to victory in a SCF game 7 game thread eight years ago, and I believe that he will do it again. I’ve been in his Civic too many times to count, and you know I protected it, every time.

Though I am an admitted lurker, I have met a number of you drunkards over the years, and I enjoy your company, both virtual and IRL.

I don’t have a lot to say—if I was going to come up with a long poetic post, I should have done that before I started drinking. With that, I’ll keep it short and sweet:

The Bruins are going to WIN

Guys, I’m excited.

Think I’ll watch this one alone. Too damn wound up to be around people.

I'm back in the same hotel I was in for Game 7 against the Canucks. The more things change the more they stay the same. The Bruins will lift the cup again. Everyone can forget about St. Louis and their shitty songs.

It's going to be a good night.

Celebration Town Tavern. It’s not far from Int Drive, and it is a Boston-themed bar. It’s gonna be packed with Bruins fans I would imagine

The cradle of the game.
I just hope I can keep it together during the game. So friggin stressful. Even if we score first, I’ll be all CANT LET THEM TIE IT OH NOOOOES. I guess that comes from living through the dark ages when, aside from the Celtics, we lost every one of these games for like 30 years.

Bs are the better team by almost every measure (esp. coaching and goaltending), and while I’d rather be us than them, pregame perceived advantages guarantee nothing.

Go out there, think, skate, execute.

Don’t know about streaming but Scholars Lounge and Abbey Theatre should both be playing the game. They always had NFL and MLB games when I’ve been there.

We did this eight years ago for Game 7. Good things happened. So it's happening again.

California. Duh.
I'm quitting work in about 15 minutes. Don't know why I don't just do it now, it's not like I've gotten anything done today.

Well, not now.
Well, if they are somehow losing between periods and a switch must be made to get the team back on track, I’ll run out at intermission.

Shit, if we win, there ought to be a mass nyc get together for a shot or 3 hookup.

I had the day off. This could have been an all-day affair. Might be for the best as if I started drinking early I'd be blacked out by now.
