Doris: "When the Sixers went down 0-2 Doc fired up this team. He told them you've got this. If we get this to a game seven we can do this."

For all the (understandable) hand-wringing and pessimism here, if I’m a Philly fan I’m absolutely furious right now that they couldn’t win when Tatum played that poorly.

One layup was the only shot he made in the first three quarters for JT, but, not ready to have his season end, he put on a red cape for the fourth. 16 legendary points, for only 13 to the Sixers, including a garbage time bucket.

One note... Tatum was bad for 3 quarters, we turned it over an insane amount.... but we won in large part because we held Philly to 86 points, 13 in the 4th... huge defensive effort.

The only “problem” is that the Celtics didn’t do much to get any good shots, Tatum just hit some shots. Those count, but if it’s close again in Game 7 he’s gonna have to make shots again
They held them to 43 in each half. The Celtics can shit fully down their legs and still win if the number to beat is 86.

I want to stress something here….

Tatum was GARBAGE in the second half….and then he fucking put a cape on and closed the game out

Harden had another awful shooting night. We have 3 wins when he’s been awful at finishing and look absolutely lost when he’s making shots. Someone needs to build the best strip club the world has ever seen in Boston before the next game

So funny how a couple of minutes completely changed the narrative. SAS and the ESPN crew are talking about how it's a devastating loss for the 76ers. Considering how they started the game getting blown out and played from behind most of the game, that was going to be a devastating loss for the Celtics.

I asked in an earlier game thread why we weren’t playing 2 bigs. What the fuck took so long?

Not only couldn’t JT score in the first three quarters, he didn’t have a single assist after the first quarter, but he still had the balls to take this game and series over.

I‘ve been watching Celtics playoff games since the early 70s, and that fourth quarter was as scintillating and clutch as any other performance, and even more impressive after his historic shooting struggles.
