Oh good, Monty said he considered making the change after the third goal. Wonder if he considered after the 4th, 5th, and 6th goals?

It’s literally all about Ullmark turning into a pumpkin, and Montgomery refusing to go to Swayman. And honestly, I think Swayman would LOVE being thrown in there for game 7. I bet Ullmark is dreading it.
Ullmark wants nothing to do with game 7. I don't think even Monty can justify throwing him out there. I'm just worried they never gave Swayman a game this series and now he's going to come in cold. It was supposed to be his net at the beginning of the season. He wins game 7 and it's his net again. Step up.

They scored 5 goals. The problem was the guy who gave up 6. Same problem as game 5.
And who made the decision to have him play more games in a 2 week plus span than he has done in his career? Ully has never been a workhorse.

I disagree. They battled back from 6 different one-goal deficits in the past two games. They are battling their asses off but getting no help on the back end the last two games.
Yeah I think they did a good job battling back multiple times, playing through a bull shit goal wave off. The problem was their Verona Trophy winner couldn’t stop a beach ball.

If they survive this round, they absolutely have to go back to the changing of the goalies as they have all year.

Oh I don’t think they are relevant, but they will do it all the same.
yeah.. the less people pay attention to them the less relevant they become. Those two have remained absolute prophets of doom through over two decades of winning. What is the point of following sports if the only thing you (royal you...not you soxin6) want to do is peddle misery and hope your home teams can lose so that they'll be right?

Bruins game 7 history against American teams is bleak. A bunch of wins against Toronto, Montreal, and of course Vancouver, but the 2011 Tampa win is the only G7 win against a U.S. team since 1992.

Sorry just trying to get all the negativity out there so the only thing left is an empty shell of a man devoid of feeling.

Starting an at best injured and at worst totally fucked Ullmark in G7…I just can’t even fathom it.

Put Sway in get some of that random young goalie magic and ride.

These aren’t 60 foot softies going under Ullmark’s arm. They are shots from close coming after sustained pressure, often behind him, where he’s going side to side because nobody on the team can be bothered to check.

I’m not saying he has been good, but fuck, they are not even trying in their own end. They are standing on the dot watching fucking guys cruise around in the corners untouched.

I hope Ullmark isn't hurt but regardless it was absolutely absurd to keep him out there. He should have been pulled after the 3rd goal. Even if you don't lay them at his feet (I did), the team needed that shock. But yeah, Monty Little froze up.

Ullmark is dealing with a minor injury, I think, but he played pretty well early in the series, and the shit he's doing now is not related to an injured groin. Rebounds flying all over the place, being out of position, turning the puck over. He's playing like he's nervous as hell.

I'm pretty confident they'll go to Swayman in game 7 - I just think you're putting him in a hard spot because he hasn't started a game this series. You put him in to start the 3rd and this likely isn't even a series anymore. That said, they are where they are. Have to come out and play like they did in the 3rd. Bobrovsky hasn't impressed me either this series and I think the Bruins are going to put some goals on the board at home for game 7 - question is whether a goalie who has been sitting nearly 2 weeks and a porous defense negates that.

Is he? He’s had a couple of good games. But the pressure has ramped up and he’s collapsed too. The brain fart in Game 5 wasn’t an injury.
He looks really really uncomfortable in a way I probably haven’t seen since they left an injured Rask in to die the last time this happened. All of his movement looks stiff and awkward. Having trouble recovering. And fighting every shot. Maybe he’s just Stromboned. Either way it’s bad.

At some point the guy needs to step up and make a big save. That's what the goalies for Cup winner do. And that's not what Ullmark is doing.

Sure, but he's the Vezina winner, you need some saves on these, and it's pretty clear from the easy saves he's fighting it. He couldn't catch pucks shot right at him tonight.

“Don’t let us win one.”

This thread is a perfect echo of the 19-8 catastrophe in 2004. That’s the thought I’m taking through tomorrow and pregame Sunday. I’ll hope to see Swayman and Grzelcyk in and I expect this group to play in a way that honors their captain.

I think they pull it out.

This. It's not just the soft goals. Even the saves don't look good. Being out of position, rebounds everywhere. He looks like he's lost his confidence. You can't throw him out there in game 7.

I think Ullmark is injured and I'd guess it is a back issue that is making it so that he can play but he's just off a little -- not as quick and not as agile absorbing shots. It matters.

Really hope that the SEA-COL and DAL-MINN games both get extended so that the Bs get like a 3:30 game instead of a night game. Get this shit over with.

Problem this series is the coach, the goalie, and the defensemen, not Bergeron not playing in games 1-4 (in which they went 3-1)
Would you just stop with this? You said something ridiculous and got called out, and instead of moving on you dig in and go find a perfect Simpsons Paradox to cling to.

Stop digging in and take your medicine and it'll go away.

Btw, coming into the playoffs with an injured goalie is probably an even better reason to actually flip back and forth with Swayman, as you have all fucking year.

He gave up multiple soft goals the past few games, served the OT game winner last game on a fucking platter, has been physically laboring all series, and was questionable for substantial portions of it.

Jesus, dude. Multiple things can be true at once. Ullmark spitting the bit tonight does not necessarily imply that his defense has been stellar.

I’ll bow out. I’m just going by arithmetic/facts.
