I just don’t see how coaching changes anything with this game or this team. It’s a good but not perfect team that is extremely streaky. It was that way under Stevens, Ime and now Mazzula. They had a ton of wide open looks tonight.

IMO, the biggest material adverse event was RWill’s injury. Their defense was helped a lot last season when he was mobile defender, and their rebounding was decent with him and Horford on floor. That was their peak. They have not gotten back to that level of performance since then.

Also worth noting that in a series where Pj Brown has played a ton we have barely tried Williams and Horford together with Williams playing that roaming role

Embiid has completely intimidated the whole team from going inside too. Nobody but really Tatum is attacking the rim looking to score. Everything is a drive and kick without even looking at the rim.

What a frustrating game by a truly frustrating team. The "flipping a switch" mentality has put them on the brink, and with all the talent they have they should be embarrassed.

I do think the missed shots in the beginning gets them off kilter - but they need to lock in defensively for 60 minutes. No excuse to let fucking Maxey and 50 year old James Harden cook you.

We'll see how much pride they have now.
