Do the refs get interviewed by a pool reporter after the game like other sports? If so I’d be very curious to see what possible justification there is for only sending one to the box there. Did the ESPN broadcast try to give any sort of explanation?
I'm really fucking tired of the whims of incompetent refs making a material impact in playoff games. It's unavoidable in sports, but more so than any other league (due to the manpower advantage) shit like this decides games and series. Enough.
The Canes are much more dangerous when they're leading. They were timid as hell with no score, but now they feel free to skate hard and look for counterattacks.
the leagues need to make the officiating a true meritocracy like it is for the players. Easier said than done bc of the unions

Refs or no refs, Carolina outplayed the Bruins that period. Yes the refs sucked but Carolina carried the play for much of the period, looked like the faster team, and made the B’s play their pace. As much as you’d want to get that extra hit in on them, it’s not worth the penalty. Got to play a more disciplined game.
Bruins are up 1.0 to 0.71 in expected goals, and are 7-2 in high danger chances. They did not get "outplayed."
Edit: You can say Raanta outplayed Swayman, that would be fair.
They just showed the replay and the Cane also threw in a couple extra shots after the ref tried to split them. Was he more disciplined?
No they didn’t. Bruins had more shots, scoring chances and high danger chances.

What’s false? They are getting the shit end of the stick on penalties on the road so stop putting yourself in position to pick up more. Or that after an early flurry they didn’t do anything in the last 10 minutes or so of the period? 1 shot in the last 12 minutes of the period.
