Yes! One! Prior to the goal this first period has been so appallingly one-sided that I have to think we’re looking at a phenomenon of asymmetrical skillsets PLUS a rare cluster of luck-fueled outcomes. Which of Corsi/Fenwick/xGF comes closest to being hockey’s version of Babip? Can we regress to the mean now, maybe?

The “luck” stat is PDO, which is team shot percentage plus team save percentage. Most teams sit right around 1.000. I think the Bruins were at .991 for the regular season.

And by no surprise the Bruins had 0.823 and 0.924 PDOs in the first two games of this series.

Now obviously having a team full of snipers and great goaltending can bend PDO in your favor, but it would be nice to see some good fortune here soon.

Just 5 more years on his contract.

Matter of fact, the vast majority of the Bruins defence is locked in for at least two more seasons.
It’s still a very tradeable contract if they want to go that route. 6’ 5” defenseman locked up for their age 26 - 30 seasons at $4.1 million cap hits are still valuable.

If you score a SH goal - it should wipe out the rest of the PP.
I like this idea and it happens rarely enough that it has the benefit of being a cool novelty without having too much of an outsized impact. Though you do lose the ultra rare but amazing multi-shorty scenarios.

Would be nice to see the Bruins kill this off and get one of those coming out of the box goals...

In case people haven’t worked up enough animus toward Carolina, it should be known that Tony DeAngelo is basically the most reviled person in the NHL. A quick Google search on the can will supply you with a high-caliber villain for your rooting satisfaction.

I don’t understand. The number next to the Bruins logo is bigger than the other one. What does that mean?

So often there are two or three Canes hard pinching in on forecheck... has to be a way for the bruins to exploit it... and they called that crosscheck? really?

Tell me they aren't calling the little knockdown in front of the Bruins net as the puck went by...
