“That’s why I have a problem with analytics guys. These guys just win you games!”

“...that was paquette’s first shift of the period”

Kenny has been no-selling Pierre all night and it’s hilarious. Pierre has been terrible

Really shitty game outside a handful of minutes in the 2nd period. Shocking effort at home. Again.

Series is easily over in 5 if they don’t play better than these last two games. They aren’t even putting themselves in position to get lucky, so they aren’t just going to sneak by with wins playing anything like this.

That was a frustrating game. Lots of hockey left though fellas.

The frustrating thing is that they were absolutely in this except for that embarrassing start.

Just an atrocious game. We saw how good they can play in Game 1. And now two games of this. It’s like they just assumed it was over. Horrible effort. Got out worked on the boards.

Krug and Gryz were the low lights for me. Bergeron was solid, Marchand was up and down. Riley Nash was bad for the forwards and I don’t really get the Wingels love.

I would not replace Krug or Gryz; their upside is what made them one of the best teams in the east.

They need a lot more from Marchand. He looks slow out there, and his penalty was really dumb and selfish

You just cannot make unforced turnovers. It’s one thing to lose pucks when attached. It’s another to do what Gryz did 1 minute into the game putting you into an immediate hole

Tampa suffocated them the second and third. Very impressive on their end. They are such a good defensive hockey team.

The Bruins need to elevate their game. We will see if they do that on Friday. They also need offense and I am finally ready to unleash the Donato. Let the kid get a shot on the third line and either bench Heinen or Shift him down to the 4th for Wingels. Donato’s speed could really be needed here.

Unleash him. Free the Donato.

This. That was bookended with his 6 on 5 whiff late to lose the zone. That was a shitty hockey game.

Do it. I was very much anti-Donato but at this point, what’s another defensive lapse or two?

Put him in there.

More importantly, I don't think they realistically have the personnel to replace them.
They don’t. Same with the forwards.

At this stage, every team is talented and deep. Tampa outplayed the Bruins early, got two goals in the first four minutes, and played a smart, disciplined game the rest of the way.

I don't think it's an effort thing. It's talent on defense. The Bruins just aren't ready defensively yet. I think they worked hard tonight. They're just not there yet.

Analytics are valued precisely because they debunk guys like Pierre. I also agree with @Gunfighter 09, whole team needs to pick it up. When it's shorter to name the guys who played well, it's a team effort loss. No one really stood out as good on offense. The defense was noticeably bad with Mac the only one who came out as a net zero IMO. I don't want to belabor the point, but I think the Bruins need to make this a more physical game. Everyone, down to Chara, was getting manhandled. You can be the less physical team, but it can't be as one-sided as it was tonight.

We saw in the Toronto series how things can swing. Everyone is trying really hard out there, it's a complicated game and momentum is a real thing. Tampa is a little bit better than the Bruins but they've also had a better gameplan so far this series. They're down 2-1. It's far from over. They have the talent and coaching to turn it around. But Tampa is fucking good too, it's going to be a tough rest of the series

You’re overreacting to one game. They were 3rd in goals allowed all year and have gone up against the two best teams in the east. They were bad tonight but will be better.

Game 2 was the same way. Game 1 they were rusty after not playing for a week and it showed. Watch them defend and watch the Bruins defend. I hope I'm wrong but I don't think they have the talent on defense to win if Tampa plays well.
