Embiid is hobbled and can barely run. Keep pushing the pace and make the big man work for everything.

Yep, it was a 24 second violation.
Yup. As was blatantly obvious live.

If the Celtics play this kind of defense, they will win the championship. There is no one in today's NBA who can beat them if they play defense like tonight---there will be shooting variance and they will lose some games, but if they approach every game like they did tonight this season is only about 15-16 games longer and they will raise a banner.

If I were their coach that would be my message---no one can beat us but us. So lets go do it the right way.

So much better than Philly when we play hard. We already blew 1 by fucking around though. Can they keep the gas down enough to keep this series away from a hot Philly shooting game or two from losing the the series is my only concern. A very valid one given the psyche of this team.

Tatum and Horford are a combined 3 for 17, and the C's are up 27.

Go figure.

There's something happening here

What it is ain't exactly clear

There's a man with a beard over there

Giving the MVP a Rolly to wear

I think it's time we stop, Celtics, what's that sound

Joel Embiid is falling down

where the darn libs live
Maybe they won't, but it happens in the NBA all the time. And the Celtics have historically had a problem with such leads.

You know it's the 3rd quarter, right?
I'm going to repeat this: the Celtics are not blowing a (now) 27 point lead here. They're not. It's not happening. I've watched this team all year, I've been watching the NBA for probably 35 years at this point.

I'm comfortable with this call. You can worry if you choose. When I wrote it the first time they were up 23 and had all the momentum. Now they've got a larger lead and more momentum.

I dunno. If they blow this game now I'll just quit watching sports for a year.

36-16 third quarter from Boston. Maybe they’re learning from past mistakes coming out to start the second half weakly.

It kind of feels like it’s as simple as switching less.

Like, if the top defenders commit to staying on the top players, that little bit of it being harder for Maxey/Harden makes a big difference. They aren’t getting the freebie looks tonight because we’re actually guarding the perimeter.

And Embiid keeping thing sslowwwwwww helps.

I think the extra rest helped Harden out A LOT.

The onlt way this game could be any better is if someone took away Reggie’s ability to talk

Just 3 TOs. Tale of the tape
I think this is the key more than the defense. I mean Philly has missed a bunch of easy shots and some free throws, and Harden had two threes basically go all the way down before coming back up. They easily could have like a dozen more points right now without batting an eye. But the way Boston is taking care of the ball….just beautiful.
