I've thought about it, and the above posters have really swayed me with their well thought out arguments. Win!

Tough sledding, especially since I imagine the GI bug is still impacting a large swath of the roster.

Win anyway.

The Panthers played a very, very good game for two periods of Game 1, and the B's were mediocre. If the B's (even without Bergy) put up their B game instead of whatever that was on Monday, they win easily. I say they do that, and let Bergy rest until he is good and ready.

Between here and everywhere.
Let's Go!

For a guy who plays with punctured lungs and broken ribs, this has got to be something pretty brutal going on here. Win it for Bergy!
Stanley Cup Finals are a lot different than Round 1 against a vastly inferior opponent when you're up 1-0 in the series.

This may simply be a case of giving him an extra day in hopes in gives him an extra month.

Right. He was gametime decision two nights ago, so I think he'd play tonight if it were do-or-die. Maybe he sits until they lose (or is clearly healed)?

I know, you're right.

But man, I don't like these games without Bergeron. I also simply don't see how slotting in Foligno is a good idea.

I look forward to the epic “Win it for” thread. But for now, win it for Patrice, win it for a 2-0 lead, win it so the Panthers are deflated. Win it for the hug, win it for the yellow number 2.
Win please.

Is Lauko completely over the shits? And I'd rather have Nick than Greer, if the choice is those two (assuming Nick is 100%). Greer has a "hair on fire" streak that worries me in a tight playoff game. I also prefer Frederic to Nick, whenever *that* choice has to be made.

Go up 2-0 and you don't have to rush Bergeron back. I'm a little skeptical that the injury isn't serious - I'm not sure how much value I place in Montgomery saying he's "day to day." If they go up 2-0 you have the luxury of resting him for at least one more game, and possibly two. If it's knotted up at one going to Florida you're going to be pressed to get him back into the lineup.

Hoping that 37 is truly day-to-day and we're just "stealing outs" to give him more rest. But I don't like it.

That seems awfully hubristic so I think he legit can't go. Can't bank wins in the playoffs.

Though maybe if they go up 3-0 they can bench Tuukka to give him rest.

This is probably wishcasting, but the vibe I get from Bergeron as a leader is that he's fostered an environment of honesty, humility, and mutual trust among the team, and he's leading by example here. We all know he can probably play—he's played through worse. But he understands that this is a really deep team and has complete trust that the Bruins can win without him. I'm absolutely sure he wants to be out there, but between not being up to a personal competitive standard, or understanding the marathon-like nature of the playoffs, he understands that placing his trust in the next man up is the best thing for the team right now.

And if this team is going to go on a deep run, every man in the room needs to take a similar attitude. As others have mentioned there's a time and place for pushing through an injury, but doing so only out of pride or a misplaced sense of obligation is really unhelpful when there's healthy and able players ready to jump in.

Wife and kids heading to the Cape for the night on April break, so I will be alone and without any possible distraction tonight. There will be much alcohol involved. Win and it will be a glorious night.

Monty hinted at that:
“I think you are always looking at the situation, and everything goes into the situation,” Montgomery replied. Where he’s at is No. 1; No. 2 it would be – just like the regular season – rest versus play. Where is the series at? All those factors.”

He's been battling an upper body injury for a couple (not sure if it's been that short or longer) weeks I think. I don't think any of us identified a play that was a good candidate for it... other than maybe the hits he took in that Blue Jackets game where he got the cross check to the head and some other hits.

Bruins made the adjustments to Florida’s aggressive forecheck by the middle of the second period Monday night so maybe they’ll start faster tonight.

Please win tonight. I am going to game 4 in Florida and I really want that to be a close out game. And of course, I would want the Bruins to win tonight if I was going to the moon during game 4. Which I am not. I am going to the game.

Do I seem wired? YES.

Because I am.

Like @tims4wins, I have the run of the house tonight, and there will be altered states involved. This is a good thing, especially if the Bs win.

Foligno, by the way, looked pretty invisible in game 1except when he smiled oddly at the penalty he seemed to deserve. I know his ice time was limited.

Last: I feel a bit badly for Grizz. I thought he would be in tonight, not that anyone did anything worthy of being rotated out.

Isn't Grz nursing an injury of some sort? Or is he just not in because previous playoff performance permeates panic?

McAvoy/Lindholm/Orlov- Better than Grz
Forbert/Carlo - Lead team in penalty killing TOI.
Cliffton - Playing smart hockey.

I think that Grz is very flexible and can step in easily if anyone goes down with injury. He can't replace McAvoy, but with a shuffle there are useful pairs that he can join. He's a dream 7th defenseman.

Let’s go! I’ve been up since 5 am mostly waiting around for this game (my kid had ACL surgery this morning so it has been a long, boring day of changing ice packs).

I’m ready.
