Brind’Amour’s guys played better hockey than Cassidy’s guys tonight, from the goalies out. That’s the story.

Way to be tough at 60:00 of a three goal loss against a team that has eaten your lunch all season long and into the playoffs and knocked your second best defenseman out. Way to send a message, fellas. Yell at that guy, Foglino. That’ll do it.

Give me Swayman, Reilly, McLoughlin, and let’s go fuck some shit up at home on Friday. I’m gonna take a shit on Svechnikov’s face. 45 hours until game time.

Who,promptly passed it directly to a Cane
I get it, but he had used his 6 best players for the first 1:30 of that PP and there were no whistles. They were gassed and changed and he had to put somebody on the ice and none of the options were good. If it wasn’t Nosek and Foligno it would’ve been Lazar and Frederic.

Jaffee doesn’t think the hit was dirty. He’s being cagey in his language, but that’s pretty clearly the case.

This is a very fair point

I think it’s fair to point out that the Canes scored two goals on penalties that were the result of the Bruins getting an extra, or the only, penalty in a scrum. It’s just bad officiating when one team is getting penalized out of scrums.

Cassidy threw his own team under the bus for a lack of “discipline,” didn’t say shit about the refs but, “We need to take a look, see what was warranted, see what wasn’t.”

What a fucking joke. Why the fuck would you ever want to play for this guy?

I want his ass fired. He doesn't have the ability to play the game to win in the NHL. 100 percent team debrusk at this point

That sucks. Can’t say I really saw Lindholm ever settle in as a Bruin apart from his first game or so. He seemed to be fighting the puck a lot more than I expected him to. Get well, Hampus.

Didn’t do anything after getting pantsed in the Finals by a coach willing to work the refs, certainly not going to do anything now.

If you go all out against the refs they just call more against you next time, its an unwinnable situation.
I mean, they're already fucking over the B's at every turn, I fail to see how it could get much worse.

Putting the refs on blast is how you get shit done in this league. Because this league is run by a bunch of lazy hacks who are more than happy to sit back and do nothing while the truckloads of money come in. The only way to get them to do anything is to fucking embarrass them publicly. I mean the whole offsides review system was borne out of a massive overreaction to one fucking play.

To which hit was he referring, the one on Lindholm? Pains me to say it, but it looked 95% clean to me. Contact to head was secondary and as much a result of Hampus’s skating position as anything else. The 4 minutes to Carlo afterwards was baffling - I must have missed whatever Refs called there.

Frederic’s head was up his ass, and Coyle chose to walk the line, post-whistle at a bad time - got lucky. But Haula’s extra two after period-ending hit on Carlo was utter bullshit and 3rd period parade to the box was absolutely exasperating.

Bruce might already have been tuned out, here - they might all be playing for Bergy, at this point.

Yes, and to me as well. I’m offering Jaffee’s take as additional info, not to disagree with him. To the extent that there was follow through up and secondary contact to the chin, that’s really not what caused the injury. His brain careening into the front of his skull due to the sudden stop of his momentum and neck snap did.

Well, he did once.
And he got some soft calls early in response.

He also followed it up by playing a goalie with essentially one leg.
But also this. I’m 43 years old, and that coaching move does not get nearly the attention it deserves as an easy top five worst Boston sports coaching decision of my sports-watching lifetime.

Agreed.
And while Svechnikov did everything by the book on a hit virtually impossible to pass up, he knew he was about to end the man’s night, at least. DMen in the NHL, at this pace of play, with players of this size and strength, have become a truly unprotected species.

Brind’Amour doing it perfectly. Evades discussion about Svechnikov by saying Pasta intended to run their goalie.

“You tell me. Couldn’t be more obvious.”

Where does the Pete Schourek start rank?

(Watching StL/MN and Berube will soon be putting the Refs on blast, once again. And once again, with no justification).

I mean, what do players prefer? A coach who constantly tells the team to figure it out and battle through it while he grimaces on the bench or a coach who will use every tool possible to try to eke out any advantage he can? Especially when his players are getting run with zero repercussions.

Svechnikov is a total trash player. He is in literally ever scrum and cheap play tonite. The canes fans ate it up. The refs were trash tonite. Even canes canes around were like uhh well uhh not sure what the call was. They had like 4 dudes in the box 4x
