Played like shit for 55 minutes, good for 5 minutes. This game was closer than it should’ve been, Carolina dominated the vast majority of the game.
Dude...You absolutely know hockey better than I do...but that is just not what I saw.

Did not match the intensity for enough of this game. Way too much time in the defensive zone, and the back line need to get their heads out of their asses when handling the puck. Never looked very good after taking the lead.

Kase was buzzing all night again, so there’s that.

yeah.. Carolina in no way dominated.

edit: you can say that they took advantage of all of their opportunities and buried most of them.. but there were a lot of B's lazy turnovers that had very little to do with Carolina.
If anything you could say that Carolina dominated five minutes at the end of the second period when they changed the game.

Still miffed Bruce didn't go with Halak tonight. Rask wasn't great so hindsight's 20/20 etc but if there's a game to use your 1b, this was it

What an annoyingly frustrating game
This. We were terrible defensively in our zone with too many turnovers leading to 3 snipes from the Canes and we couldn't take advantage of Reimer giving out rebounds consistently.

It's amazing how I feel much less concerned being tied 1-1 than I would if they now had to go on the road.

They are clearly the better team..get Pasta back and wipe the floor with these assholes.

Not enough finish around the net tonight. Chara killed them. Maybe don’t play a 43 year old defenseman on a back to back. He handled the puck like a grenade and was responsible for at least two of the goals. Rask was mediocre. Maybe come out and challenge the shot from Hamilton? Or the 2nd goal? You can’t give these guys over your shoulder, they’ll hit it.

Also pissed that with a rested 63/37/13 they decided to take a timeout after the Canes iced it. No need to do that IMO

Bruins were sleepwalking to start the game and never really woke up until being down 3-2. I thought Marchand’s goal to end the 2nd would get everyone going and they’d have a really good 3rd but it was survival mode for most of the first 10 minutes. They waited too long to get it together and it didn’t result in a tying goal.

Chara looked like he was in quicksand and Rask has not looked good this series. Need Pasta back big time.

What about trying Studnicka in for Ritchie? He has been terrible.

Cassidy knows. McAvoy, Krug, Grzelcyk and Carlo all got more TOI than Chara.

It’s tough to see Chara struggle. You really root for the guy. But struggle he did.

Dominated is probably extreme, but Carolina was the better team tonight. They out chanced the Bruins 21-15 and held the Bruins to a paltry 1.09 expected goals. The Bruins did noting offensively and were sloppy with the puck in their own end all night. Led to the 1-1 goal and the 3-2 goal. Bad combo when you can’t generate any offense and are prone to spending long shifts in your own end. Long shifts in your own end typically ends in a goal against or a penalty (correct call or not).

Ritchie looks like a total zero to me. Out there for 10:45, 2 hits, 0 shots. Big and slow. The fuck does this guy do?

He’s supposed to just be big go to the net. Not a traditional hockey play, but he did win the puck on the disputed hand pass goal in game 1. That’s the kinda things they want him to do. Win battles, create havoc in front of the net. That line just didn’t have anything going tonight, and could’ve been a result of getting shaken up. They lost Bjork with Pasta out and then Coyle started getting shifts as 1RW.

Point taken but I feel like Coyle has so much gravity on his own that I’d prefer someone more dynamic alongside him to take advantage of space rather than just occupy it.

Yeah, not saying Ritchie’s been good. Just that the *idea* is for him to throw his body around a bit and ger to the net.

Damn. I had two playoff losses before Boston turned on Tuukka.
Yeah I lost that O/U. Maybe he needs to throw some milk cartons.

I wonder if the Bruins experience hurt them in this one as much as the Pastrnak injury. Coming off multiple OT and then playing the next night a few players looked a half a step slow.

Whereas Carolina looked like they were flying and the Bruins defense then decided to handle the puck like a live grenade. Something to look at again if this goes 6.

I said before the game they needed that Coyle line playing well but the line shake ups just didn't really work for that line. Unfortunate injury to Pasta bad turnovers and not making the most of your opportunities (Krejci breakaway icri).

All that said it's a 1-1 series on neutral ice. If pasta is out game 3 they'll need to figure out a way to keep 3 lines rolling hopefully that involves playing with the lead so you don't need Coyle as 1RW.

I don’t know what it tangibly means but I don’t like it. It’s not what I want to hear from one of the cornerstones of the team.
I don't read his comments as saying anything other than that he's trying to keep a level head and not worry too much about any given game's results, which frankly is probably the mindset you need to have as a goalie. Would you have liked it more if he said "I get super stressed before every game and when I have a bad game I can't stop thinking about it"?

Eh, I am sure the media will be all over it, but his statements bother me far less than Pasta being questionable for Game 3

He’s just so slow and seems behind a lot. It makes his play look lazy. As for the third line, it was apparent they really missed Bjork’s energy and offensive skill. Kuhlman is a decent chip and chase guy, but he’s not making the plays Bjork will. With Ritchie looking like a men’s league player, it really inhibits Coyle’s ability.

They need Pasta to balance things, but even then had opportunities to win as McAvoy had Reimer beat on the PP, but missed the net, and then McAvoy had an open net and missed that with a few seconds left. Either goes in, we obviously have a different game.

Can't wait for this to be the only thing talked about leading up to game 3
There is absolutely NO FUCKING WAY I am turning on Felger and Mazz today. It will be 4 hours on Rask.

I’m sure they’ll mix some quality “Pastrnak is SAWFT! He should’ve played last night!” hot takes Into the conversation.

The perception of the comments comes off as I am not really into these games because there's no fans, it's August, and I've been off for months so what do you want from me. I don't think that's what he actually means, but it is a bad look.
