The Bruins won Game 1 and outplayed the Canes. Peter Mrazek is still trying to find his angle on the OT goal and probably will continue to do so into the next game. The Bruins were the better team in the regular season. They were the better team last night. Keep that up.

Between here and everywhere.
Without the energy from the home crowd / home ice advantage - I imagine we're going to see a lot more shorter series.

Let's go up 2-0, then 3-0, then 4-0 aginst these frauds.

Dating back to March of 2019, the Bruins are now undefeated agains the Carolina Whalers in their last 7 games.

Let’s continue our 18-month dominance.

Cassidy did not commit to a goalie for today, but seemed to be leaning towards Rask.

They haven't played a goalie back to back since Cassidy took over, with one exception when a Rask injury forced Halak to do it. The data pretty much says that teams should never do it. On the other hand, this isn't a typical back to back since they played an afternoon game yesterday and the nature of living in a bubble makes recovery easier. It's an interesting decision and I'm not sure which is right. I think I'd stick with Rask, but up 1-0 it's a bit easier to sit him now when the next back to back will be potential elimination games (one will be if it gets to 6).

If the Coyle line continues to put up an xGF% of >80%, the wannabe Whalers will struggle to win.

It's a very tough choice. Guys had 4 months to rest so they should be as fresh as they'd ever be for a playoff run, but if this becomes a series it's 6 games in 9 days. The B's have the best goalie tandem in the league and this is the time they could flex that. Rask looked a bit shaky yesterday, but it's only the 5th game back since the restart(counting the exhibition) and he still could be finding his rhythm. If there was any time to throw Halak in there, this would be the time. As you said, the next back-to-back would potentially be between Games 5 and 6 so that would be when I would definitely stick with Rask.

Long story short, it's a very tough choice for Cassidy but if I were in his shoes I'd go with Halak.

Some guys are getting treatment but Cassidy hopes to have the same lineup as yesterday.

Marchand - Bergeron - Pastrnak
DeBrusk - Krejci - Kase
Ritchie - Coyle - Bjork
Nordstrom - Kuraly - Wagner

Chara - McAvoy
Krug - Carlo
Grzelyck - Lauzon

Rask

I liked seeing the Bruins start off the series with good scoring chances from all four lines (and goals from Lines 1, 2, & 3). I think the Krejci line will add more finish today and the game might get away from the Canes in a hurry. Of course the Bruins D could score all the goals today and that would be fine too - just keep winning.

I'll also be rooting for a regulation win by the Blue Jackets (if only to ensure that the B's game starts in a timely fashion).

I hope Bruce starts Halak tonight but I don't think he will. I think he wants Rask tonight to get him in a groove.

Coyle is an absolute possession beast and Bjork has been flying around. Hopefully Ritchie brings a little more bash brothers to his game and this line hems the Canes in their own zone. It wasn't as pretty as the Pasta/Marchand/Bergie connections but the Coyle goal was an effort goal with all 3 linemates playing a role.

More. Win.

Not that ESPN writers are the best hockey writers but it bugged me that 13 of 15 of them picked the Hurricanes to win this series. Anybody else read that? I was worried but I got a big relief in game one. let's go up 2-0!

He hurt himself celebrating the winning goal last night. Hopefully precautionary with the quick turnaround.

Someone mentioned on Bruins Bear's Facebook that it looked like he pulled up a little lame after the GWG yesterday, but that's the only thing I had heard about it until now. Not good, Bob.

It will be the following per Bob Beers
Marchand-Bergy-Bjork
DeBrusk-Krejci-Kase
Ritchie-Coyle-Kuhlman
Nordstrom-Kuraly-Wagner
So Kuhlman will have to zip around and get the puck to Coyle. I’d love to see Studnicka but I guess they feel he’s not yet physically strong enough.

Anyway, go B’s!

Well that sucks. Hopefully Pasta is back for game three and this doesn't linger.

Is there an alternate channel or are we stuck with the CHI-VGK game until it ends?
