Looks like Thomas might be out for tonight. Krug may be a marked man.
Berube said explicitly that it had nothing to do with Krug's hit. I'm not sure it's a true statement, but that's the official position.

Kuraly's goal was the direct result of a puck on net that Binnington handled poorly.

Pucks on net.

(and if anyone has a moral objection to Barstool content, but gets one of those towels. I'll gladly cover shipping costs for you to send it to me.)
Totally agree, pucks on net tonight. Don't get too cute with over passing. Their D are big and have good reach. Also, go blocker/stick side on Bennington.

The “pucks on net” theme resonates hard. The Bruins over passed to a great extent in Game 1. On the one hand, I get trying to set up the most effective shot. But we’ve seen so many relative softies, tip ins and rebound goals.

So shoot more, Bruins.

I feel very good about this one. I feel very good about getting 4 Ws. I feel very good.

Doesn't worry me either way. Krug is 3 feet tall and has been evading/dealing with being hit by much bigger players pretty much his whole life. I'm confident that he'll successfully turn any sort of targeting into a positive play against some Blue (is one member of the team a Blue?) running around for revenge.

Any time spent chasing Krug in a Cup Final game is a folly, and if they do, further evidence they aren’t prepared to focus enough to beat the Bruins. Same thing goes for Binnington talking about Krug being on something. They lack focus. This will only hasten their undoing.

I am surprised he says Thomas being out was unrelated. Thomas didn’t have another shift after that from what I remember.

Gonna miss the start, but will be following online. I hope I return home to a 2 goal lead AT MINIMUM!

Along similar lines, I can’t begin to watch until around 9.30 PM. But I’m putting the phone in my pocket and starting from the beginning with my DVR. Gulp.

Win tonight.

The bad: I have a softball game at 8 and will miss part of the game on TV.
The good: My wife had to bring her car to the shop and the loaner was a Panamera 4 so I get to drive that to said game.

Between here and everywhere.
I mean, you can still schedule her an uber.
Already at the airport.

I was working at the Pentagon today so I just went straight to BWI to grab a few drinks at DuClaws. I live an hour south of the Pentagon so there was no point in going home first.

Long story short, the wife is going to show up after 2 hours of flight delays to a drunk husband she’s now going to have to drive home.

Pretty sure I heard it correctly. They were talking about current players who may get numbers retired and lamenting having a large amount of retired numbers. He was saying he didn’t think O’Reilly should be up there, didn’t think 8 should be retired either.

I actually might agree with him on 24 but no fucking way on 8.

33 and 37 are definitely getting retired. If they win the cup this year then 46 likely will and depending how things shake out, likely 40 and 63 too.

Yeah, 24 is borderline and the current group discussion was just as you said which led to the “too many numbers” thing.

Buccigross has a tweet today that 63 is building a case for the HOF which is wild to think about.
That's wild. A couple more 80-100 point seasons and he'll have a modest case. He will probably get dinged for his assholery and for playing with Bergy.

Just realized I've been in the usvi for six playoff games. Last night, three against the Pens in 13, games 2 and 3 against TB, which I believe were both wins. Let's keep the streak alive.

Everything would have to go right for him to hit 400 & 1000. Even then, he might not get in for a long time due to the asshole factor a la Roenick.

I'm usually happy to lurk in these Bruins game threads, but my wife is currently in labor and my daughter seems likely to be born sometime around the second intermission, so this seems like good thread mojo. I have a laptop set up in the window ledge shelf ready to stream NBCSN. May my daughter be born in time to watch the Bruins suck the will to compete out of the Blues
