Once again, Grant’s pants shitting really hurts this team. He should in theory be super useful in this series but nope, 12 minutes for Pritchard instead.

Must say, I just rolled out of bed in France to angrily say “we gave 120+ points to this shit team?” and then read the box score and saw that the Heat shot 52% on 31 3-pointers. That feels like a “not going to happen again” this series at least and made me feel better at least.

But still, this team can’t do anything fucking easy.

Zut alors.

The issue for the Cs was defense and the let down from Sunday. It really isn't shocking.

Win game two, get a game down in Miami and see where you are at.

They limited us to 29 threes. This team isn’t winning shit in the paint. Have to find a way to generate open threes moving forward. I’m not worried about Miami’s shorting.

But then they turned the reins over to Tatum and he totally shit the bed.
Yeah, they neglected him so long he forgot how to dribble.
Although the 2 particular plays were definitely boneheaded that's kind of my point, in that they waited until Tatum needed to be perfect to even be competitive. Tatum should have more than 17 FG attempts by the 3rd quarter.

A quick adjustment for the rest of the series is that Pritchard can’t play anymore. I am a fan of his but that was made abundantly clear. As @JakeRae pointed out, playing him together with Brogdon is malpractice.

PP should be stapled to the bench. Would like to see Grant and Hauser get run if Joe wants to extend the rotation

Kind of amazing how he has disappeared from the rotation this season.
But weird that Pritch gets the benefit of the doubt but Grant, who has a decent postseason resume, can't find the floor?

Didn’t seem to hurt them too much in the first half. The issue in the third quarter was that they almost literally could not stop the Heat from scoring every time down the court.

I don’t know what was worse, the Celtics in the third quarter, or YoutubeTV in the fourth quarter.

Only one game. I’m surprisingly calm and still think they are the favorites. This team does really like to make it hard on themselves though….

Why are we giving CJM the Benefit of the doubt for benching Grant? I personally think he could have been more useful than Prichard this game, specifically defensively.

Someone correct me if I’m wrong here but, when removing injuries, I don’t believe Pritchard has got playing time all year outside of garbage time? Like literally I don’t think he’s played a single important minute?

I’m in Costa Rica this week and didn’t watch tonight. Someone please in one sentence tell me how we gave up 46 fucking points in one quarter.

I see Bam was an insta-bucket, MAYBE PLAY THE GUY WHO SHUTS HIM DOWN.

Heat had tremendous shot luck. I am more worried about all of the boneheaded turnovers.

He's played 4th quarter mins close/tight, but very rarely. Usually when Brodgin was out.

But yeah, strange to see him out there in a high leverage spot. Given he barely saw the floor the past two series..

Heat made shots, bad off ball defense, Pritchard switched onto Jimmy Butler a lot

Everything about the team’s defense in the 3rd sucked

White spent a bunch of that in foul trouble, and some of those minutes were shared because Smart got dinged up.
At one point they had Brogdon, White, and PP all on the floor together (because Smart was hurt). That’s an abomination defensively - why not throw Grant in there at that point and see what happens, how could it be worse?

The Heat’s great shooting would be more of a consolation if the Celtics had not also spit the bit so bad down the stretch. They repeatedly got the ball back down two possessions and looked awful.

Whatever. Win Friday and who cares. It is just rough seeing them look so discombobulated going into a situation where they are running out of any margin for error.

Or why not Hauser.. who is at least taller and plays competent defense?

Blew timeouts early when unneeded, did not want to go down to only two for the 4th quarter so they were not called when they were necessary to make adjustments, so adjustments were never made.
