Here
Tatum and Brown turn the ball over a fuckton against the Heat. Why I had this series as basically a toss up.

They could easily get swept here. They have a large coaching gap and a proven inability to protect the ball or leads.
The Heat are the antithesis of all that. They are getting great matchups, good looks and are well disciplined.

Hauser has been not secretly good at defense all season but sure go with the short guy who isn’t long for the team anyway.

Wait. Did Miami really score 46 points in the 3rd and the celts never called a timeout? That is hilarious. I am sure some will defend it but really not sure how you can.

Tatum has his arm grabbed about every single time he has the ball at the top of the key or going down the lane against the Heat.. and was hacked a number of times by Lowry as well. If he got a Butler whistle those are all fouls.. but for whatever reason Tatum doesn't get those calls.. he gets a lot more calls than he used to.. but players are allowed to play a ton more physical against him than most stars have to put up with..IMO.

I have come to accept this team for who they are. A good talented team that is not great. Luckily, you don’t have to be great in today’s NBA to win…especially this season.

Someone correct me if I’m wrong here but, when removing injuries, I don’t believe Pritchard has got playing time all year outside of garbage time? Like literally I don’t think he’s played a single important minute?
he has, he even got 3 starts, including 1 against MIA. I don't have a big problem with the 1st PP stint, he was trying something, seeing if quicker guys would work.
The 2nd stint made no sense to me, feel like you have to go Grant or Hauser there.

Look, I think it’s obvious at this point that CJM and staff are a net negative in-game but the Celtics are just so much more talented than the Heat and talent wins in the NBA. Shooting variance will even out and Boston will make adjustments to get more looks from deep. Yeah, the defense sucked in the third but Miami was also otherworldly hot. It took that to beat us and I doubt it happens more than one more time. Celtics in 6.

Butler gets a Butler whistle because he knows how to draw a whistle.

This is where I’m at. Let’s see what happens when Butler and Lowry are out there with only a day of rest.

The only thing I noticed is that the 2nd half started with Celtisc having only 4 timeouts and Miami still having 7. I guess Joe really didn't want to run low on timeouts, but that run needed to be stopped.

Frustrating to see the Nuggets take care of business against a much better team, and us shit down our leg. It’s just who we are. We don’t learn.

After his first stint where it didn't even feel like he could get the ball I'm not sure why Joe was in a rush to get him back in there.

That too. If there was a game they were going to steal it was this game. I’m just not that worried. Sucks to have to play from behind but I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if they’re home for Game 5 up 3-1. I’d be shocked if they’re down 3-1.

How many times do the Nuggets have to win to show that THEY'RE the actual better team?

If the reserves for Miami shoot like that again.. all bets are off.

One of the talking heads on TNT said afterwards that the Celtics are 11-11 at home in the playoffs over the last three years. How is that even possible?

I did say “removing injuries”. That game against the Heat was when Brogdon, Smart and Brown were all out

A team that does not understand urgency until they are literally one game from elimination does not actually understand urgency. Thank god for Doc and last years red carpet to the finals.

At some point you have to just acknowledge that the Heat are surprisingly good. You can always come up with reasons to denegrate them and the playoffs is a small sample for sure, but this game didn’t seem all that different from some of the Bucks games. They beat you high scoring, they beat you low scoring, and they find a way close and late.

The Celtics didn’t need to match 46. They needed to stay close though. They only scored 50 points in the second half. Some of that had to do with the Heat.

He’s not wrong, but it’s really easy to say that and another thing to actually make it happen. I mean this is the third coach with this core now and it’s been the same shit every time.
It’s why I don’t get fired up about the coaching. This is who they are. They consistently swing between great and awful game to game (or quarter to quarter). I don’t think a coach is going to change that.

Pritchard wasn’t the reason they lost. They were down four points with like 3 minutes left and Tatum turned the ball over three times in the span of 90 seconds. The momentum had turned to the Celtics, they went to their leader and he shit the bed.

There’s a lot of blame to go around, but they were in a position at the end to win that game and they lost because of rookie turnovers.

Probably because the crowd is a bunch of front runners who get tense the second an opponent scores two baskets in a row.

Playoff Tito he ain't.
Nah, I think Tito was equally pointed on the one issue (3rd quarter intensity) but optimistic even after the 19-8 thrashing by the Yankees in game 3 of 2004. PP was kind of a playoff Tito style move but it happened to be the wrong move. I think Grant or Hauser instead of a 3rd guard will be the right move.
